Wow, didn't know people were allowed to have asterisks in their town names! Ya learn something new everyday, indeed!

For two days, when I turn to CityTV HD, it will be fine for about 10 seconds, then went dark showing no signal. It I go to another channel and come back, things will be fine for another 10 seconds and go dark again. All other channels are fine but this one, so I assume this is CityTV signal problem. Anyone experience the same?

Yes, it (CityTV 57-1) has gone as the OMNI 1 n 2. After scanning, it always says "Not Exist".

My location is Thornhill, West of Yonge St.

I've also been having problems with CityTV HD, and also for the last couple of days. Prior to this, I've always received it with no problems here in mid-town TO.

My TV indicates a solid signal, but there's no picture or sound at any time. I'm also obviously not getting any PSIP data, since after re-scanning all the channels, it stays mapped to 53.1.

All other channels remain fine.

Any thoughts?

City TV disappeared for me as well 2 or 3 days ago. Before then it was one of most reliable stations. There appears to be a broadcast signal when I look at antenna signal strength. However, I then get a message stating there is no TV signal. Its very strange. Has anybody contacted CITY TV to see if they changed anything?

2 or 3 days ago, After being recving it fine since....as long as I can remember..CityTV also disappeared on my Sanyo TV with integrated ATSC tuner, Ive tried all kinds of resets / rescans but to no avail.

HOWEVER: My older Samsung SIRT151 and TS160 ATSC recvrs, which are connected to the same antenna seem to be tuning in and picking it up just fine.

Maybe something on City's side has changed ? maybe worth sending them an email ?

I just sent City the following message:

Hello,

This is intended for your technical/broadcast engineers.

the last few days a few of us have no longer been able to recieve your ATSC DTV signal on ch53.

We were wondering if anything has changed at your end that would cause this ?

I have two older ATSC recvrs that still pick it up fine, but my newer Sanyo set with integrated tuner suddenly stopped recving the signal a few days ago - (same antenna / everything else equal) and it seems several people are experiencing similar problems (see link below)

I've had the same problem with CityTV over the past couple of days. I checked early this afternoon and nothing had changed, high signal strength but no video or audio.

I thought I'd check CityTV one more time before posting that I was also having problems and right around 4pm, CityTV came back, normal video and audio. FWIW, I'm using an ATI HDTV Wonder and WatchHDTV.

Many thanks for all the corroborative reports.

I checked at around 17:50 EST and saw that CityTV HD was back up and running...unfortunately "Ellen" was on. *Sigh*

Ah well, gotta take the bad with the good I guess.

That's *very* weird. It must be something they've done to their signal - maybe a glitch in their PSIP (I say that because my HDTV tuner caches PSIPs until I do a full rescan - so when the station makes "minor" PSIP changes, such as changing virtual channel number, I don't see them until I scan again).

Just checked, everything back to normal again(at least for me).... Good job CityTV for fixing this so quickly. The only station with HD news, very good.
