Are you sure? I get no signal on 15.

But I get the actual feed just fine from Jamestown...although
it's deleted from my channel lineup. :-)

TCT repeater in Buffalo on channel 15 is analog only.TCT Jamestown is analog 26 or on digital 27{26.1].I can receive all but are deleted .

Ahh...yes...I remember now...LPTV is what I think it's called.

I get 26 analog better than 15.

theres an analog channel on 15 in Buffalo?

that doesn't make any sense, SUNTV broadcasts their HD channel on 15 in Hamilton. Why would the FCC and Industry Canada ever approve to stations that close on the same frequency? I'm clueless

Well, it's almost impossible to recieve in Buffalo. I barely can see a picture on it and I'm only ~15 miles from their transmitter. So it's not a conflict.

Yeah, there's a WBNF-CA channel 15 on Grand Island, owned by Faith Broadcasting. It's either 9.2kW south-east directional or 27kW directional if they've acted upon their construction permit yet.

SunTV in Hamilton is about 45 miles away and only 4.1kW, so I guess this is allowed.

I'd say 9.2 kW, based on my experiences.

Ron, where are you located? If anywhere close to Toronto,
you may not actually need to fine tune your 4222 that
much... I know I don't even have to aim in the general
direction for City or CFTO! :-)

Well I think I have some kind of problem. I am on the east side of Newmarket, 1 mile from the 404 and Davis intersection. However, with a 4222 and 7775 preamp I can barely get CFTO, and don't get City anymore (CBC is strong). Mind you, I have not mounted it yet it is sitting on my deck, pointed to the CN Tower. I think my coax might be bad so I am planning on replacing it. With this hardware I figured it would be a snap, but it is just not working.

Channel 15 is interesting around here-Dundas and Greenwood. I normally receive "Star-Ray TV" on this channel. This is a semi-pirate low power analog station at Main+Danforth in Toronto. It was licensed as an experimental station by Industry Canada and has continued after the license expired. You can see their antenna on a building on Main St. just south of the railway tracks on the west side. There is a small radome partway up a large receiving antenna tower on the building. If you look in the storefronts, one has TV equipment and usually a visible monitor with the programming. Google for "star-ray tv toronto" Their website is here http://www.srtv.on.ca and a coverage map [Link: srtv.on.ca]. This guy has been fighting with the CRTC for years trying to get a license.

I also receive Buffalo quite often, usually just the sound overtop of Star-Ray and diagonal lines over the NTSC. Is this Hamilton? They were both coming in last night. I saw some pictures on the web of ATSC interference in NTSC and it looked different, just random noise. Anyone care to comment who can receive both Buffalo and Hamilton?

Wow...all the way from Toronto???

I can't even get it perfect with an outdoor antenna here...not that I want to. With an indoor the picture is barely recognizable.

Of course, your outdoor antenna system blows mine away! :-)

I don't think the transmitters on Grand Island are more
than a mile apart if that.

If both towers would fall towards one another, the antennas would come close in touching.

2150 reports CTV ch 40 as 550kw while RC shows it as 17kw (which it appears to be).
[Link: 2150.com]

Questions:
1. Is ch 20 and ch 40 directional?
2. Will CTV will be increasing their ERP anytime??

(BTW, the 2150 list is based from City Hall, Buffalo)
