RTI has just announced a new line of four so-called "problem solvers" - basically, little widgets intended to solve specific issues that might crop up in a system.
First there's the ADA-1, a Dolby Digital to Analog downmixer that takes a coaxial or optical output and converts it to standard analog audio. The VDM-1x HDMI Downscaler with Downmixer is intended to multi-zone systems with both HD and 4K sources and displays, and either downscales or upscales video for compatibility, and downmixes Dolby Digital to stereo PCM. URC has just launched a new remote control model for their WiFi-based MX HomePro control platform. The MXHP-R700, which closely resembles the company's Total Control TRC-1080 or Complete Control MX-890, is being billed as a more "full featured" product with a 2" color LCD, backlit keypad, and rechargeable battery. In what will be seen as very sad news by most in the control industry, iRule (and OnControls) have announced the formal end of their current product offerings, which includes the eventual shutdown of any ability to modify existing systems using their cloud programming interface, within four years.
