The instructions and codes for the BD-512 are now in the Files Section (thanks again, Daniel).

Click here to get the manual and codes for your remote, then click on Files, and Then Save.

We appreciate your good intentions, and your desire to help, but if you look 3 posts up, to post #63, you will see the link to the instructions, which means anyone who needs them can instantly get them without having to ask anyone else and wait for replies.

In case it is difficult to find the link, I will repeat it here.

Click here to get the manual and codes for your Mitsubishi BD-512 remote, then click on Files, and Then Save.

This post is intended not only for you but for anyone else who might read this and need the instructions, although in a few more posts this one will not be seen either, since it seems most people who post here immediately go to the post reply window without ever reading what has already been posted.

Before you read this and say, read the instructions, I want to point out there is no mention of this in the instructions.

For some reason, this remote locks itself sometimes, when you press a key, the led flashes twice. Not all the keys work, but most do. When it's in this mode, you can't do anything, you can't control your device, and you can't input codes or access any of the search modes.

My question is, has anyone figured out what this mode actually is, and how to get in and out of it. Or is it more of a fact of I have a dodgy unit? It's driving me mad.

If you start at the beginning of this thread and not at the end, and keep reading until you see something that looks like it answers your question, you will find what you need. It may require a little initiative and work on your part, but it is there for the looking.

It is in big bold type so it will be hard to miss.

I see some reference to a .pdf file of the Instructions for tne BD-512 Universal Remote Controller.

I would be forever grateful for a copy ......... and more than grateful if it would make the apparatus work.

Please forward to my email address ........

bruno.brown@btinternet.com

Thank you in anticipation.

Go to Post #67 above, click on the link, and download it. it is a Word document, not a PDF file, so you shouldn't have any trouble with the download.

Hi,
Auto search works well with tvs, dvd players etc.,
simply press set & power for 3 secs as instructed.
The led will flicker as the remote runs through
the codes, when it finds the correct one the tv
etc. will turn off (note: this can take ~ 5mins!).
As the remote doesn't know when the unit e.g.
tv turns off you have to be ready and press another
button, any button immediately when the tv turns
off. If you are too slow, the remote will have
gone onto another code by the time you press a
button to exit the scan. This can be repeated
for different modes, press the mode you want to
program before running the auto search e.g. press
tv1 then run the autosearch proocedure, when complete
one can press eg. vcr2 then run autosearch for
the vcr.
I have an 'onwa' tv which is some obscure make
that didn't even get a mention in the code list,
without autosearch I wouldn't have got the remote
to work at all!
phil.
