Having spent an age sorting out a nice 4000 box that worked fine with my pronto, I moved house. Telewest have now given me one of their new Scientific Atlanta 4000DVB boxes. Surprise surprise, back to square one with my Pronto not working. I dunno if this is due to the same issue as with the Pace 2000 boxes, or if I just need new CCF codes. Any idea anyone? I can't find any new CCF codes for this model box anywhere if the second option proves correct! HELP!!! I hate Telewest!!

can you not even manually copy the IR to the pronto with the Atlanta remote control?

t1m - Can you please email me on info@redremote.co.uk
I'm trying to find out if my Red-Eye product will be useful to SA box users, and if any changes need to be made (e.g. to get power). I'm looking for someone with one of these STBs who can help with testing.

I don't have the SA remote - only Telewest's multifunction one that works with all their STB's. Needless to say, it doesn't work.

I've managed to get a partial set put together using codes from other SA boxes. Still a few buttons missing though (like the green button...)

Having got a partial set put together, it's obvious that it's not IRDA, so not sure if I'd still need a redeye? Email sent anyhooz....

That's interesting - I was under the impression that the SA box used the IRDA remote - there is certainly a version that does, as I've seen comments somewhere from people using an original type remote (maybe it was an NTL one?), and I also saw a press release from SA announcing compatibility with the Two-Way TV IRDA protocol. I wonder if maybe it supports both IRDA and SA's own protocol...? Can anyone shed any light ?

I have just had my Pace 1000 STB replaced with a SA 4000 box, i had was hoping to now be able to get my pronto working with it. I have found a few codes from some other SA STB but not many. Has anyone go a set of codes?
I have also have the new remote with the SA 4000 STB it appears to be a IRDA remote like the Pace 1000 STB.

But the SA 4000 STB seems too accept RC5 (standard IR codes) as well as IRDA codes.

t1m any chance of getting hold of the codes you have put together?

I'll post my codes as soon as I get a chance. Currently I have no PC at home, so can't do anything with my remote!! New one on its way this week, so I'll post them as soon as it's sorted. Not very happy at the moment as my Denon AVR1801 amp has just keeled over and died, so can't use my hifi anyway :-(
It's getting looked at as I type, so fingers crossed it's not expensive....

Help is at Hand....

Both NTL and telewest use the IRDA system as in future years (if they get in a fit financial state) it will enable greater interacivity to their services.

Obviously with Pronto's being imcompatible with IRDA, you need to go to a suitable vendor, such as www.letsautomate.com and purchase a "red-eye convertor" - probably about £30 that will convert your remote signals into those that are compatible withe the decoder box.

yep i did, easy to set up, didn't fix the odd problem of the black screen when i switch on. but i think that is down to me using the 'ok' button as the on button, (i do this to keep everything in sync, as the pace box doesn't have a discrete on/off command
its great to have to 'I' button back again though!!

I've had the Pace DI4000 - N working with my RC5000 for the last year without any problems (after 2 years of a DI-1000 not working with RC5000), in the last 2 weeks there appears to be a bufferring problem where the box switches channels more than you want when you use channel up and down, and generally flaky behaviour changing channels!!, I'm an NTL user in the Manchester area, I noticed my channel order got muddled a few weeks ago and now the menu's are more 'transparent', so I presume NTL have changed the software?, has anyone encountered this problem, and will the red eye correct it?.... sick of messing around everytime NTL change software...
