Looks like interest in this thread is waning!
However.....

On the third anniversary of our family’s first DVD purchase, here’s an updated count:

We now have 441 titles!
This includes 78 television series titles.

I haven’t counted these TV discs but they occupy shelf space that would hold approximately 150 single DVDs.

That's great, but I believe the question was aimed at personal collections. Plus, don't be suprised if you get a few "what's with bringing up old threads?" responses.

Welcome to the fray!

cgroth - the Sony's can "flip the disc" with a
button press.

My only issue with Profiler is that I can't label
a disc as having 2 or more numbers in my collection.
For example, with Band of Brothers (10 discs),
I can only enter it as 1 entry in profiler! So
when I want to watch disc 5, I have to know its
number (normally, I do this as the collection
number + 5 for this example).

Cheers,
Kolya

As long as you uncheck the option "Download profile from IVS" you can add your own inventory items. You can't duplicate entires, but it works well in creating place markers for collection ID's which contain more than one disc.

I went through my DVD Profile and added redundant entries for any collection ID which actually contained more than one disc. This was in preparation for loading my 3 Sony DVP-CX985V 400 disc DVD changers a while back ago. The collection ID's in my DVD Profile directly correspond with how they are loaded in my 3 changers. I even encoded to my hard drive, then ripped to DVD+R any DVD title which had a flip side. By having the flip side on a seperate disc I could place it in the next changer slot. No sense in have 400 disc changers if you have to get up and flip a disc around to access Side B. :-) Having all this in place ahead of time made working up my TSU7000 configuration file fairly painless as well. I am currently up to 1005 DVD discs. That number is individual DVD discs though. The number of DVD titles I have is somewhat lower as I own several box sets and so forth.

Geez! This thread could serve as an instruction booklet for a guy like me.

I have only a dozen-or-so because I rented them from Netflix. I just resigned from there, though. I was running out of movies that interested me.

As an ardent VHS collector since the days of the VHS vs. BETA wars, I have about 400 tapes. (talk about storage problems) I made the observation that all I had to do to assure that I would never watch a movie again was get my very-own personal copy.
