Well i used to purchase them for a well known computer games company (for DVD playback tests) i got 3500+ in less than 2 years, and i can tell you that a good 80% was total CRAP.

I got loads of freebees and that started me going so i got about 1450+ at the mo but rising every week.
having major problems storing them now, any ideas

I now have just over 510 discs, in two Pioneer DVF-727 changers. I use DVD Profiler to organize the collection. By having the discs stored in the same slot no in the changers as the same collection no on Profiler I can easily find the movie I want with very few pushes of a button.

However, it would be even easier if I could download info from Profiler to SuperNudelist. Has anyone tried this with success? If so, how did you do it?

Also, has anyone tried to control their changers from Profiler using an IR remote control? I have the Marantz RC 9200 and now that software exists that can be "placed on top of" Profiler and should aloow control of Pioneer changers, but this seems to require the PC to be hardwired to the changer. My changers will not allow this.

As some of my discs are either "flippers", have different movies on either side of the disc or extra material on side B, I would like to place these discs in a changers which can play both sides without having to physically remove the disc. I believe the Sony changers can do this. Can someone confirm?

I have 215, I am also a DVDaholic. The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.

cgroth - the Sony's can "flip the disc" with a button press.

My only issue with Profiler is that I can't label a disc as having 2 or more numbers in my collection. For example, with Band of Brothers (10 discs), I can only enter it as 1 entry in profiler! So when I want to watch disc 5, I have to know its number (normally, I do this as the collection number + 5 for this example).

Cheers,
Kolya

Kolya, I quickly ran into the same problem, and found a work around. You can usually find another entry (with a different UPC) for the same movie. So I add that movie to my collection. Then I rename the original movie xxxxx Disc 1 and call the other Disc 2 and so on. It works fine, altough I sometimes have to change the images, but that's simple, just replace Disc 2's images with the original ones. In this way I have corresponding numbers all the way!

I am now however working on an even more elegant solution (hopefully) which will allow me to start my changers direct from a program called Movies! which runs on top of Profiler and control a Slink-E IR emitter connected to the PC. This way, when I'm looking up movies on Profiler (well really on Movies, but never mind) and see something I like, I use my trusted RC9200 (which operates my PC) to pusk a button called Play on Profiler, and abracadabra, the collection number on Profiler is "sucked up" by Movies!, sent to the Slink-E via wire, emitted from here as an IR signal, and received by the daisy chained changers, wjich will then start the disc with the corresponding numbers! Cool, eh? Hope it will work, haven't ordered yet.ø

If you dont mind, would you please give me some info on how DVD Profiler can help you manage your collections with your Pioneer Players and Prontopro I am a little lost, and welcome any help to streamline the process of managing my DVD's.
Currently is a three step process, I enter the DVD info in the player, then I enter the same info in an Access Database, and then I enter the info as a macro along with a thumbnail of the DVD in my Pro....Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

Lorenzo

I have 208 DVDs. The first 125 or so were free using amazon Gift Certificates back in the good old days of Jaboom.

Have you tried DVD Profiler? Might only take you 25 Min.

Up to 303 DVD titles here. And still a single disc player. (Of course my movie database also covering VHS tapes has 884 entries...)

Update from 09/05/02:
Our DVD collection is now 348 titles.
Have decided against a mega changer in favor of a very good single disc player.
