Okay - time for people to be proud of their collections.

I have 125.

How many do you have?

I have a cardinal rule to keep my collection under 200 at all times.

I achieve that by constantly selling and trading. I have 199 today.

I've had about 1,000 pass through my player since 1999!

I've got 151, all in a Sony mega player that will hold 300. I have them all nicely catalogued using DVD Profiler, which allows for a professional looking printed magazine type journal that I keep on the coffee table for browsing.

I have roughly 40 dvds, growing slowly - I'm VERY picky about what DVDs I buy - I have lots of music (concert / live performance) dvds as I can watch them over and over again - I generally don't like watching movies more than once or twice - I know what's going to happen - what's the point? I mostly have a good mix for when I have guests - and I buy movies sometimes that I think my mother would enjoy when she comes over.

I have found that movies fall into one of the following four categories

(1) Movies i want to see
(2) Movies i enjoyed so much i want to own
(3) Movies i wont buy / rent / see at the theater BUT might watch on tv eventually
(4) Movies that make me volunteer to mow the lawn / vacuum.

I think that sums it all up.

Wow - I must be a minority of one here - after two and a half years, I own two DVD's -- maybe after five years I will go wild and own four of them - lol.

Cheers, Jim.
Cheers, Jim.

I am with Muyiwa. I like to collect Concert/Music DVDs. Out of my 199, I have about 35+ Music/Concert "Keepers" Those are the ones that stay in the player the most.

I suspect Jim, got his player as a present?? or use it as a CD player?? What's your story? Do you rent? Wow!

I have 450+ DVDs and about 70 laserdiscs. I have 9 DVDs currently preordered and I live for Tuesdays. :-)

My collection is cataloged in DVD Profiler and I have custom built-in DVD shelves in my wall. The DVDs are arranged by genre with 2 shelves full of the "waiting to be watched" DVDs.

My name is Andrea. I'm a DVDaholic.

I have 203, most of which are replacements for tapes from my VHS library of over 300. About 50 are newer releases. They all are in a Kenwood DV-J6050 400 disc mega-changer, and indexed in DVD Profiler, including the slot number(s) in the changer.

The VHS replacement discs are mainly classics (lots of Oscars, ex: Citizen Kane), cult classics (Buckaroo Banzai, Rocky Horror), historical dramatizations (Lawrence of Arabia, Braveheart) and musicals (lots of Rogers and Hammerstein, Paint Your Wagon). Most of the newer discs are spectacualrs (Star Wars) that take advantage of the widescreen and surround sound.

Oh, and John Wayne! Lots of John Wayne! :)

I was serious about not buying anymore, but I have 400 tapes I've recorded. And with 3 Pvr's, there's pay-per-view and
Hollywood Video. Of the pre-recorded I
have left, those are the two I ever watch. I don't have the patience to watch a movie, it takes days. I like TV dramas.
