To configure a preset code: While holding [COMMANDER OFF], press [MUTING]. All component names will flash. Press the Component Select button you want to configure. Enter in the three-digit component code from the code table, followed by [ENTER]. You may configure codes for other components by pressing another Component Select button. Special note for [DVD/VD], [CBL/SAT] and [DECK A/B] buttons: press the button repeatedly until the desired component name is displayed.

Using the code search function: While holding [COMMANDER OFF], press [MUTING]. All component names will flash Press the Component Select button you want to configure. Press [CHANNEL+] or [CHANNEL-] and [POWER] in turn until the component turns on or off, then press [ENTER]. The code number will display twice.

To check which code number is set: While holding [COMMANDER OFF], press [MUTING]. All component names will flash. Press the Component Select button you want to check. Press [DISPLAY] and the code number will display twice.

To learn signals on user buttons: While holding [COMMANDER OFF], press the Component Select button you wish to learn to. "LEARN" appears and all learnable keys will flash. Buttons that have a signal already learned appear solid, buttons that have a preset function aside flash every time and buttons that have no function flash every other time. Select the button you want to learn to. Aim the RM-AV2100 and original remote head to head and press and hold the original button until the remote beeps. To teach on double-buttons ([REC] + [PLAY], [INPUT] + [1], etc.) you must press both buttons at once. When learning to DECK A/B, press DECK A/B to select either DECK A or DECK B.

To change the LCD display label of a key: While holding [COMMANDER OFF], press the Component Select button you want to configure. Press and hold the Component Select button and the button you want to change repeatedly until the desired label is displayed. You may now learn a signal on that button. Note: You must remove a learned function before changing labels, and you cannot change the label of pre-programmed buttons.

To clear a learned signal from a user button or hide keys: While holding [COMMANDER OFF], press the Component Select button you want to configure. "LEARN" appears and all keys will flash. Buttons that have a signal already learned appear solid, buttons that have a preset function aside flash every time and buttons that have no function and are hidden will flash every other time. Press and hold [RESET] and a solid LCD button to remove a learned function. Press and hold [RESET] and an LCD button that flashes every time to remove it from display. It will now flash every other time.

To hide unused LCD keys: While holding [COMMANDER OFF], press the Component Select button you wish to learn to. "LEARN" appears and all keys will flash. Press and hold [RESET] and the key you would like to hide until it only flashes every other time.

To learn signals on System Control buttons: Instead of a macro a System Control button may hold a single learned command. Press [COMMANDER OFF], [CHANNEL+] and [VOLUME+] at the same time. "LEARN" appears and all symbols that correspond to System Control buttons that can be learned on will flash. Select the System Control button you want to learn on. If a macro or signal has already been programmed on that button "NG" will flash; you must first reset the button. Aim the RM-AV2100 and original remote head to head and press and hold the original button until the remote beeps.

To clear a learned signal from a System Control button: Press [COMMANDER OFF], [CHANNEL+] and [VOLUME+] at the same time. While holding [RESET], press the System Control button you want to reset.

To learn signals on Component Select buttons: Note that a learned signal will take precedence over a macro. Press [COMMANDER OFF], [CHANNEL+] and [VOLUME+] at the same time. "LEARN" appears and all component names that can be learned on will flash. Press the desired Component Select button. "LEARN" will flash. If a signal has already been programmed on a button "NG" will flash; you must first reset the button. Aim the RM-AV2100 and original remote head to head and press and hold the original button until the remote beeps.

To clear a learned signal from a Component Select button: Press [COMMANDER OFF], [CHANNEL+] and [VOLUME+] at the same time. While holding [RESET], press the Component Select button you want to reset.

To assign other components to the Component Select buttons: Press [COMMANDER OFF], [CHANNEL-] and the Component Select button you want to change at the same time. The numbers 0-9, "A", "B" and "ENTER" will flash. Press one of the following number buttons that corresponds to the device you want to assign to that Component button, followed by [ENTER].

To clear all learned signals for a Component: While holding [COMMANDER OFF], press the Component Select button you wish to reset. Then, while holding the [RESET] button again press the Component Select button you wish to reset. Note: for DECK A/B, make sure that a learned signal has first been taught and that the correct deck is displayed, or both DECKs A and B will be reset.

To program a macro to the System Control buttons: While holding [COMMANDER OFF], press the System Control button you want to record the macro on. If "NG" flashes the button already holds a macro or learned signal and must first be reset. Press the first Component button that contains the button you want to record, then navigate the remote. When you have finished recording the macro press [COMMANDER OFF].

To clear a macro from a System Control button: While holding [COMMANDER OFF], press the System Control button you want to clear. Then, while holding [RESET], again press the System Control button you want to reset. All component names should flash.

To restore System Control 1 or 3 back to their default settings: While holding [COMMANDER OFF], press System Control 1 or 3. Then, while holding [RESET], press the System Control button. All component names should flash. Again, press [RESET] and System Control 1 or 3. The pre-programmed operations should now display in order.

To program a macro to the Component Select buttons: Press [COMMANDER OFF], [VOLUME+] and the Component Select button you want to record the macro on at the same time. All component names will flash. If "NG" flashes the button already holds a macro. Press the first Component button that contains the button you want to record, then navigate the remote. When you have finished recording the macro press [COMMANDER OFF]. The macro will only play when you hold the Component Select button down for more than two seconds. If the button also holds a learned signal, that will overwrite the macro and must be cleared before the macro will work.

To clear a macro from a Component Select button: While holding [COMMANDER OFF], press [VOLUME+] and the Component Select button you want to clear. Then, while holding [RESET], again press the Component Select button you want to reset. All component names should flash.
