Home Theater Master MX-1000 Press Release:|
Universal Remote Control, Inc., the leader in remote control technologies, has introduced the Home Theatre Master MX-1000 ($289), a 12-component touchscreen universal remote with PC interface and a host of other advanced features found only on more expensive remotes.
The MX-1000 with its intuitive touchscreen and ergonomic joystick and keypad design, is pre-programmed to operate up to 12 audio/video components making it capable of unifying even the most complex home theatre systems.
Like all Home Theatre Master remote controls, the MX-1000 comes with an extensive built-in database or IR codes covering a vast array of audio/video components, including high-end manufacturers.
Since the MX-1000 can also learn commands from virtually any IR remote control, it can be continuously upgraded and customized for truly universal remote control.
The MX-1000 is designed for one-handed operation of the most frequently used functions. Large tactile buttons for channel, volume and transports, along with a multi-directional joystick controller, enhance the user interface.
The easy-to-read LCD touchscreen features a low glare, high contrast adjustable readout. Both the LCD and buttons are backlit via bright, energy efficient “EL” technology for operating the remote in low light conditions.
Additional features include the ability to edit the text of touchscreen buttons, and create macro sequences with a last page “go to” command. Another related feature that provides even more personalized control is the ability to create touchscreen pages for favorite satellite, cable and TV channels. This allows the remote to be set up with direct selection buttons for most frequently watched channels.
The MX-1000’s ability to archive remote control programming onto a computer, providing virtual memory retention and future download capabilities, is another of the remote’s convenient and flexible features. All programming created on the MX-1000 can be saved and uploaded to a PC for future downloads.
A second generation of the PC software (to be released Spring 2000) will allow editing, creation and importing of data files for downloading to the MX-1000. The new software will be available free via their Web site.
