I Agree 100% wayne. I have done dozens of 500 and 700T and they Never ever had any issue slearning codes. I n fact, they learn them better than ANy remote there is. I guess someone had to give away all of there code to lexicon when they sold it to harman. Well i guess we shall wait around until they get it together or crestron comes out with a remote for $1200

Rick, sorry, but your post implied that you were using the SAME software:
> >I have used the 700t with the SAME software for years
I'm glad you weren't! I hope you find a reliable remote for your clients. Have a happy 4th,

Why is it that you 2 DEALERS automatically assume it is defective if YOU cannot get it to work. I am guessing that you have NOT contacted RTI tech support since it is a long holiday weekend, so you are just flying off the handle without all the facts. I am not saying that they might not be bad but why don’t you wait to find out for sure before getting on your soapbox a spouting that they are defective. And as for 100% reliability, there is no such thing. I have had bad AMX out of the box, I have had bad cars of the lot, and I have had bad computers out of the box. This does not stop people from buying these products. You are kidding yourself if you think that any product can have 100% perfect all the time. Just calm down and call RTI on Wednesday and find out for sure if the remotes you have are truly bad are not.

I thought this forum was to share infomation and ideas. I'm fairly new to this forum and I want to know what feed back, especially from dealers, on what this remotes to before putting down 650.00. You may think it's ok to have an occassional defective product but I'm not willing to. We need more feed back from guys like this so manufactures can hear from the marketplace. In my past dealings with various tech support over the years they don't seem to know anymore than the rest of us. And finally these products should be 100% perfect.

Well, as a system integrator myself I know that my relationship with manufacturers is very important to my business. I think that the eagerness of Wayne and Rick to bad mouth this product (especially before contacting RTI about the problem) is strange behavior for a dealer....

Mine's as 100% perfect as can be expected of any device of this kind. Nothing is 100% perfect! Not T2, not Pronto, and ESPECIALLY not Windows!!! :-)

Just for the record their is a major quality control issue with the T2. My company has received a shipment of 5 and we had to send everyone back to RTI for an adjustment of one form or another. Then to top it off, we get a new remote sent to us, and it also is having the same problem so again we have to send it back for adjustment. None of us have the extra time it takes to spend dealing with defective product. RTI should be testing every remote to verify they work under all conditions. I am not the only that is having problems with these remotes. When they do work they are FANTASTIC. For those of you who say their remotes are working, consider yourself very lucky.

It seems other integrators are having issues.

Linda,
Did RTI fix the problem with your remotes? Did they fix them in a timely manner or did they disappear for months as they usually do at Phillips. Sometimes when you have to be the first one on the block with a new toy it hurts, you have to take the good with the bad. I hope you weren’t one of the ones who invested too much in DIVX.

Had a chance to use one over the weekend holiday. Can't use it past 6 ft on my Harman Kardon AVR500 rec. This was the same issue I had with my Take Control. Not enough range with that peice of equipment.

What a group we have assembled here. Yes Frank, we share I ideas, yet for whatever reason, the hostility in here is getting hot because the T2 dont WOrk for S... Hey DJ, if you actually READ what I write, then you would understand what i mean by the "Same " software as the 700t. You tell me what is different about this VS the old stuff ( minus ) the extra buttons? Frank, how many of these remtoes do u have in your house pal? And what is the story with this new PEREFCT REmote control? I need it like everyone else does. Tell me WHERE to find it

Here it is Wednesday and no response from RTI. They must be trying to figure damage control.
