Well, Rick, if you wrote things less ambiguously I would understand it better! But that's beside the point. The point is that some people received a bunch of remotes they can't get to work properly, and some of us got remotes that we had no problems getting to work. We'll have to wait until the RTI guys get over their 4th of July holiday hangover and give us some feedback.

Cheers,

DJ

Whoops, looks like Mitch from RTI got over his 4th hangover while I was at a dumb lunch meeting. Rick and Wayne, who did you talk to at RTI about the defective remotes?

Had to download my codes via hex code as it keeps crashing my computer. This remote has a real range issue. Tried it on a clients Harman rec. and at the most was limited to a 4-5 ft range. Very disappointing. Is this normal or an anomily. Also will not directly learn code from Parasound products. Is this a defect in the ir learner as it states that it will learn pulse code.

Well DJ, I can sit here and say many Direct things to you, but I am not in the mood today. I just want the damn thing to work OK! Now it doesnt matter WHO we talkt o at RTI, it wont solve the issues of it not learning or lack of range etc... the POINT is...RTI has not gotten there UPS in yet from last weeks defectives and lets see if there Fail rate goes up just a tad . So..will it ever work correctly without having to either import Hex codes or me using the 700t library ? So far maybe 2 remotes of mine have learned directly, meridian and of all things a Hitchi remote. What equipment do u have DJ or any of u out there? We need to see a list of what u fools have in your systems so we can compare and see if we r all having the same issues with the same equipment. Is that easy enough for you to read?

Let's see, according to Rick, satidfied users are either "peeps" (whatever that means) or "u fools." After reading Rick's rants, at least the parts that are remotely legible, I suggest that he go back to his 700t library and see if he can locate the definition of the word "ignoramous."

My guess is that if Rick is losing business it's not because of the quality of the equipment that he is peddling.

I can say that I have had a minor issue with my remote. The backlight only works intermittently. I called the guys at RTI and they were extremely responsive. They're Fed Ex'ing me a new remote. Mind you, they're sending it FIRST, then I send my bad one back (its not really bad, it works perfectly except that the backlight does not work most of the time).

They said mine was the only one that's actually been reported with any kind of real problem so, if you guys are really having these problems, why don't you at least talk to them?

Ranting in here only shows your ignorance and probably slows the solving of your actual problems (with your remotes, that is).

I do concur that the IR range on this remote does not seem to be even as good as some of the stock remotes with some of my equipment. However, since this is designed to be a high-end RF device, I don't see that as a huge deal. Hopefully they can make it stronger if for no other reason than to wash all this bitching out of a usually very useful forum.

That's my 2cents. Rant back at me if you wish. I doubt I'll respond though.
