That's on-again, off-again so many times... I thought they removed it last time since they determined it was causing glitches on the HD channel.

Daniel,

Do you think Radio Shack has anything that would
help me or do I have to go with a heavy duty antenna?

Is there any places in the GTA that offers good
antenna's?

Thanks,
Mike

check out sals tv and radio on 6525 kingston rd. they just installed a 4228 on my roof. i can pickup 6 buffalo HDTV stations. they are coming back to adjust it for the CN tower feeds. should get about 10 HDTV stations by the time there done.

Hard to tell; I don't really watch CBS in re-run season.

I have ATI's HDTV Wonder and I use the supplied antenna on my balcony. I have always had great reception- living in a highrise facing south guarantees that. However, lately I've had problems with jerky reception and delayed sound that doesn't match the picture. Sometimes it's all stations, sometimes just a few. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions? It's frustrating, because affected stations are basically unwatchable.

Well for one you might not want to use the sample antenna.

But the delayed audio should have nothing to do with reception. Sounds like a station or tuner problem.

Or, could be something with your PC setup (since you mention it can affect all stations). What software are you using?

It's worked fine for me in the past. I've got the HDTV Wonder software version 9.08, and an ATI Radeon 9600 PRO video card with 256 DDR RAM. I updated my drivers, but that made no difference.

I've had no problem with this antenna in the past either.

I've had no problem with this antenna in the past either.

I use the hdtv wonder as well. It happened to me a few times in the past. What I ended up doing was to completely uninstall all the drivers and wipe the registry clean and then it would work again but eventually it would break again. Why don't you try watchHDTV or Got all Media. They are both free and they work much better than the ati software. I don't even have the ati software installed anymore. Another thing that you can look at is the video playback drivers. I always got much better results with Nvidia drivers over ati drivers. The ati drivers were unstable even with an ati video card. I ended up upgrading to an Nvidia 6600GT and it's awesome! If you're familair with graphedit fire it up and see what your graph looks like. There's always a chance that you're using the wrong drivers-not because you chose it but another program might have changed the priority of the video playback drivers. I'm curious are you using winxp or mce2005? Anyways, if you have anymore questions or need help with the 2 programs that I recommended let me know!
Cheers!

Slightly off-topic, but on Daniel's list where it says "extremely low power limits viewership to...WNYO's parking lot?" could be changed to "the Ironwood Golf Course."

I know this sounds strange, but seriously, the WNYO transmission tower, in Cowlesville, NY, is right in the middle of the Ironwood Golf Course. It has ~25 support cables holding the tower up, all stretching over the course.

In this image, the WNYO tower is located a couple hundred feet (yes, that close, on the top of the water hazard for hole 7. Support wires extend from each side of the tower, with the 5th hole played right under them.

Looks very out of place on the golf course. I wish I had a picture of it. Now they just need to stick a cell antenna on the thing so that I could get cell phone reception on the course!

Excellent, I just checked in with the channel list - so the already reliable WUTV/Fox have gone to full power - Global can take a hike..who needs them anyways.
