I've had a TSU3000 and the corresponding charging base since they became available. I've had no problems with the rechargeable battery until recently. I decided replace the original battery with the ProntoWizard battery. The ProntoWizard battery came with about half a charge...and works fine. However, I can't get that battery to charge either.
When I place the Pronto on the charging base the charging indicator shows that the battery is charging. But even after leaving it in the charging base overnight the battery did not receive a charge. I've checked the pins (all appear OK) and even swapped the AC adaptor from my old TSU1000...same thing.
My wife recalls the charging base had a light that shines when the base is connected to an outlet (she recalls it being blue). Currently, there is no light coming from charging base when it is connected to the outlet.
Any suggestions?

There are two blue lights that should be showing on the charger base, when you put the Pronto into it. You base or AC adapter has likely gone bad. Visit my site and go to Battery Help to review testing posibilities.

Strangely enough, I find that the charging indicator on screen goes even if the ac adaptor isn't plugged into the wall - I've been caught a few times by the bloody cats knocking cords out of the wall.
If the blue lights aren't on, Dave is right; I would guess the ac adaptor is dead. Go buy a cheap generic one that matches up.

Any suggestions? Have you tried upgrading the System Firmware?

If the charger's LEDs aren't coming on, it's not a firmware issue.
Also, when you connect the charger to power with no remote docked, the blue lights should flicker on briefly.

It's embarrassing to admit, but a similar problem happened to me once and my goof caused me to misdiagnose a battery charging problem. At a glance, I mistook the USB cord plugged into the back of the charger base for the power cord. USB is handy interface, but not very useful for charging battery packs.
Make sure you're not dealing with an N.P.I. error (Not Plugged In!). Based on your description, it's unlikely you have the same situation, but trust me. Give it a second look just to be certain.

Thanks for the tips. I checked the AC adaptor and found it works fine. I moved to different outlets but all with the same results. I also substituted the stock adaptor with a universal one I have. Still no luck. All signs now point to the charging base itself...no charging ability and no blue lights.
Assuming the unit is beyond warranty period, is it reasonable to send it in for repairs? Also, is there a source for replacing the charging base without purchasing another battery pack (since I now have two)?
