the tier 1 tech was not very helpfull and wanted me to
conatact Bose to get there "Hex Code" so I will do so
sometime later this week, ...

I was told the same thing originally, but had no luck getting "Hex Code" from Bose.

An interesting data point is that I've tried learn mode and learn "raw" mode with no success, even though the Harmony recognizes the codes and stores them!

Yeah, I've tried the "Raw" mode also and and no luck, it also detects the key but when updated to the control it does not work. I'm happy with the settings with the GSX, its controls all the buttons I need. Maybe we can try learn mode with 321 GSX with the buttons that are missing.

I just got off the phone with Bose tech support. They say that they have a known software problem with the V20 in software level 01.01.02 and are working on a fix which will be available at some unspecified future time!

You can get the current software level for your V20 by:

1. Shut off the Bose
2. Hold the center button on top of the display down until "House Code" is showing.
3. While holding the center button down, keep pressing the on/off (leftmost) button until the software level shows on the display.

I tried the suggestion from AlGriefer above and that doesn't work on my Bose Lifestyle V20 (I bought on Saturday) and my Logitech Harmony 890. In fact none of the suggestions above seem to work. I spoke to Bose for about 20 minutes since my Bose remote wasn't always turning my TV off on system shut down and I have to turn on the HD Cable box on separately when I pressed the Cable/SAT button.
Nothing we tried worked, he suggested I call Support on Monday when this 'one guy' would be in and he has V20 and Logitech remote an has them working at home.......

And there is definitely something wrong with the remote, the IR and the software on the Bose.

I also get picture clipping when i'm in Menu mode. Everything is connected HDMI and secure. Bose support had no suggestions.

Stay tuned.

I forgot to add. Bose is sending me a 'EXTENSION CABLE,JACK TO PLUG' to possibly help with the IR issues.

Just got off the phone with second level support at Logitech and there are 'two languages' for the Bose Lifestyle V20. At his end he made the change, I reloaded the remote and magic.....It works!! The support guy was terrific and stayed on to make sure everything worked correctly.

Remember to have IR set to 'ON' on the Bose.

incident number was (Incident: 080413-001310).

Perfect!

Not4easyUse,
I read your response and am very interested, since I had "Firedog Techs" try their hardest yesterday to set up my remote for Bose. But just my luck they couldn't do it.
I wish I ran across your info yesterday, it may have helped them.
I am very tempted to call Logitech myself today, but I am afraid I will mess up what they did yesterday.
I also have the Bose V20. I purchased the Harmony One.
The way I am set up now is I use the remote for everything except the Bose.
I am on HDMI 1 to watch Cable and HDMI 2 to watch DVD. They only used one coaxil wire because they couldn't hook up Bose.
I hate to have to call them back again, do you think I could possibly do whatever it is that I have to do, without messing up my other settings.
They also set up Bose so that I need to keep the source on DVD.

okay this is my update. I called logitech and gave them your incident # which helped a great deal.
Bose needs to be set to Language 36, which he did for me.
Now I have a different problem, since the update my tv goes on, but no picture!
Any one have any ideas on this one?

It sounds like your TV is not on the correct input try using the Help button on your remote to see if it corrects the problem

I accidently found this forum last week, and thank God I did!!
All of the techs that came to my home told me it was impossible to do because Bose V20 does not have an infra red on it.
Well with the help of this forum, I again got the techs back, showed them all of this info, and guess what? Everything is perfect, they solved every problem that I was having with my HT system and the Harmony remote!
If it wasn't for this forum, I would have given up.
Keep up the good work, newbies like myself need you all.

I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong here.
I have a V30 and 895.
Have tried setting the remote up with a V20, BOSE IR on etc..still nothing, yet it seems other people can get it working.

What's the 'set to language 36'? What is that, and where do you set it?

thnx.

I (and others I'm sure) are anxious to find out what happened. Please post the results of following the Bose tech suggestions.
Thanks

Folks,
If you are running a V30 or V20 with Console Software 01.02.00 you can use a 3-2-1 GSX remote to control almost all of the features. However, if you contact Bose Technical support they can send you a Main and Video board update that will bring the Console update to 02.02.00. This will provide the system with the ability to respond to conventional Lifestyle commands (e.g. Lifestyle 18/38/48). A complete set of Lifestyle and V-class commands are available for the Pronto PCF and XCF formats under the files area.

BTW, you'll find the IR receiver located on the Display unit directly below the Bose logo.
