I just got the Matrix DVD over the weekend and when i put it into my JVC 511 it just says reading, and then ejects the tray. Anyone had this problem?

Where do you turn the 'White Rabbit" feature on?
Is it in the Special Features menu?
Do you press a key on the remote when you see this rabbit on the screen for each scene?

Hi all, no problems with mine freezing. My player is the DVL-919, but it is a very greenish DVD with low black levels. I know probally the way the director wanted it, but thought it would be a better quality one. Out door scenes look great! Cool movie, but man Keanu sux as an actor! Dude!!!

I rented the Matrix from Blockbuster this weekend and it was the first movie I watched with my new Panasonic A120 DVD player.....it was awesome. The Panasonic played the movie without a hitch. I did not use the white rabbit function though. Since then, I have watched several other movies and none have sounded nearly as good as the Matrix! I was particularly disappointed by American Pie....it had very little surround effects and when it did, they came mostly from my front left speaker?! Has anyone else encountered anything like this?

I have watched it with both "White Rabbit" on and off on my Panasonic A120, and no problems.

Hey, seems to be a lot of responses to this question. It is my understanding that if you are unable to play chapter 19 on the Matrix DVD, it is because your DVD player is unable to read the double layering process that was used to format that movie. A Bug's Life is another one that uses that process. Some DVD players, older ones or cheaper ones, won't work well with those DVD's. Check with your manufacturer for more info. I know that RCA had and issue and was offering to fix their players that didn't work with that format.

Your DVD player isn't messed up and you don't have a freak disc. What it is, is that when they made the DVD's they put on so many special features that a lot of DVD players are having problems playing the DVD. Common problems are on all of the action scenes the scene freezes jumps back 3 secs. then plays 5 secs. then repeats until the scene is over. This is because of the white rabbit feature that allows you to pivot the scene. Another that I'm having is in certain spots the video stops but the audio continues. They're currently working on making up dates for the DVD players they don't work on.

I have the new 8x Sony DVD player and it messes it up. I think it sucks because why would you make a dvd that you can't play on most dvd players. Especially when you can't turn off the stupid special features!

Does anyone know whether if you get the upgrade to allow a Samsung 709 to play The Matrix (as per Jaime's mail of 11/12/99), it is still possible to change the regional coding of the player?
I am in Europe & have several R1 discs so do not want to lose the dual region capability of the Samsung.
