How fast is the feedback ?

Pretty fast, but in comparison of what, faster than the tsu9600 own escient script.

Hi nimnul, have you tried radiostreams? itunes (if you have that in your pc) should support .pls-streams. Pcx9200 could be alternative to Squeezebox if there's a way to access internet radio.

Hi Tommy,

I have only tried with WMP, All ly music is in flac which makes itunes no option.

The best soloution however, by far, is my TSU9400 with squeezebox and this script www.prontosqueeze.com, that beats everything, even faster that the Logitech original Duet Control for Squeezebox!!!

Does it support Wake-On-USB to bring the computer out of standby?

I just got my pcx9200 and am pretty disappointed. This may be a VMC problem but it is impossible to play long playlists (could be any playlists mine are all long). I had problems creating playlists (actually the "add to queue" button) in VMC in that it would take a long time once a few albums were added.

When trying to play a playlist through the remote media screen everything would freeze up. I then noticed that even playing the playlist through VMC while this software was running and the remote wasn't even connected created problems. VMC reported unknown errors then the entire music library became unavailable until I restarted VMC. During this about 6 mediacontrol (pcx9200 software) icons where shown in the taskbar as if the program kept crashing and restarting.

Another frustrating problem is that no changes to the configuration are possible. The program simply says something like "failed to save changes". I had to reinstall the program to try controlling WMP instead of VMC. Luckily this seems to have fixed the playlist problem as I can play the same playlist now. This solution is not ideal though - it would be much nicer to use VMC all the time.

Another problem encountered with both VMC and WMP is that when the program is launched it is not responsive for 10 to 15 minutes - yes minutes! Trying to access it through windows the program says something like "Mediacontrol operation in progress" and trying to connect with the remote brings up a "connecting to PC...." dialogue.

Also the range is only about 20ft which is about 3ft shorter than I was hoping for. This is with the receiver connected to a hub away from any interference.

Yes all in all quite disappointing. I will probably end up uninstalling the software and throwing it in the bin but still want to give it a chance.

Oh one more thing, album art displayed fine with VMC but no album art with WMP.

Edit: A couple more observations. The mediacontrol software has an unfortunate method of sorting music. When choosing an album with more than one artist it will first order the songs by artist then track number rather than just track number. This really makes DJ albums un-listenable.

Also the connection to the PC is stopped when the screen turns off. So if you want to stop the music or skip to the next track the screen will turn on and the connection re-established. Depending how close you are to the rf receiver this can take up to a few seconds.

Hi, I already received the TSU9200 & PCX9200, I tried on Vista and do not works good, constantly hangs, no respond, and the program cant be stop or setup due to the service is busy.

I installed on XP Media Center, however fails the same.

I call Philips for support, and the answer is: "We don't support that models" can you believe this?

The only theory that I have today is the size of my library, 60.000 songs (all legal, :-)

Any comments will be appreciate.

I got mine a week ago. The dongle is about 6 meters away, with 5m usb extension cable, behind a corner. Connection fails almost continuously, but returns quickly. Maybe I'll try to get the dongle closer with another extension cable, but don't know if it works then at all, with 5+5 m extension cables...

Some positive, pcx9200 supports wake on usb (I had to enable S3 standby in bios for usb and install mce standby tool for WinXp).

Sadly, it seems there is no way to listen to internet radio streams. I really hope in future updates they will add .pls -file to supported formats!

So...suggestions for future software/firmware updates:
->connection issues in general
->connection should be "on" all the time, even when screen turns off
->capability for long playlists
->added support for file formats (.pls, .m3u, .asx...)
->more?

Maybe there are some guys here who can pass these directly to Pronto team.

Somewhat off topic but still the same remote. Keep a real close look on the accessories available for the TSU9200. There is a great new addition being introduced at CEDIA in Denver in September

I'm under XP and no software problem so far.

But the remote regulary reboots.
Sometimes it doesn't respond anymore, I have to reboot it manually.

I'll try to start again from a blank configuration : I had a similar problem with an older Pronto, this solved the problem...

For Nex : With WMP11 under XP, I have Album Art displayed while playing music...

Otherwise, great "one hand" remote...
Yes, you CAN learn RF with a RU950/RU980 :-)

Hi all,

Finally got to set up my PCX9200 today. I was really excited and couldn't wait to get things set up... so I put the CD in with one hand, and closed the CD tray with another hand, and perhaps I got a bit too excited, I broke the CD in halves!!

Quickly cleared the debris and went to the Pronto site to download all the required software. To my horror, the MediaControl software is not available on the official website! Google isn't helping either.

So does anyone know where I can get a copy of the MediaControl thingy for the PCX9200 please?

Thanks!
