URC has just announced a third addition to their Total Control lineup of advanced system controllers. The new MRX-8 joins the original MRX-10 and MRX-20, in a smaller form factor more similar to that of the previous MRX-1 and 2. Plus, a new 2-way Sonos driver has been released. Read more...

Anyone working with the Philips Hue lighting system will be pleased to hear that URC is now offering integration with their Total Control lineup of products (plus ccGEN2), via a module developed and marketed by Extra Vegetables.

The module offers the ability to create lighting scenes and groups, control the brightness and color of all Hue devices, and it doesn't block the standard Android or iOS apps from working. Read more...

Need a little extra reliability in your control system... like perhaps an extra year of reliability? URC has just announced that their Total Control products now include a full 2-year warranty. Now that’s good enough – but the real news here is that it doesn’t just apply to new purchases... it automatically extends to all Total Control products ever sold!

Home Theater Master (now obsolete), Complete Control, Total Control... now Complete Control Generation 2. This week’s announcement of the future availability of the “second generation” of Complete Control products – one that’s incompatible with both first generation and Total Control products – does mean that some dealers will now be shuffling knowledge of three unique product lineups. I hope everyone had (or is still having) a great Thanksgiving/Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend! Since we didn’t have a CEDIA 2013 video update last week, today we’re bringing you reports for three major control companies: Control4, RTI and URC!

To begin, Paul Williams from Control4 presents what’s new on the company’s 10th anniversary, including advanced lighting solutions, Nest thermostat integration, and the Wireless Music Bridge. Then, spend a few minutes with RTI’s Pete Baker as he shows off the economical SURFiR Remote and RTiPanel solution, the brand new T2i, T2x and T3x Handheld Controllers, along with the KX3 in-wall touchscreen. Finally, finish up with Cat Toomey on a quick tour of URC’s booth, where you’ll learn about the Complete Control Android App, Sonos & Z-Wave integration, new Z-Wave & sensor solutions, along with the Total Control TRC-1080 Wi-Fi Remote Control. Today at the first day of the CEDIA 2013 show held in Denver, URC revealed a new wand-style remote control with a 2" color LCD screen, built-in Wi-Fi and pickup sensor. The new TRC-1080 control includes a desktop charging cradle, and has an MSRP of $599 USD. Read more...
