Crazy Eddie sent me a very expensive HDTV that was DOA and refused to exchange it. Instead they convinced me to go through 6 months of manufacture service calls and the TV still does not work. I paid 3k for this TV 6 months ago. To make matters worse they sent me the wrong TV that took 3.5 months to come in when I was promised 4 weeks! DON'T BUY FROM CRAZY EDDIE THEY ARE CROOKS! This was not the model I ordered! They told me that if I fixed the TV and got it sold locally that they would hook me up on future purchases. I'm still trying to fix the tv to sell it. Anyway tried to buy a Receiver, first they lost the order for 3 days, then said they just sold the last one and weren't exactly sure when the next would shipment was arriving. They took $27 off the price. That was it! and said they couldn't do better. Remember my 3k wrong broken tv...guess not! They then tried to charge me an extra $25 shipping and handling compared to the website. I CANCELLED MY ORDER WITH THE FRADULENT CRAZY EDDIE....NEVER AGAIN IN MY OPINION THEY ARE CROOKS!!!

just my 2 cents..I know nothing of crazy eddie, nor do I know if MD's complaint is accurate.

One should strongly consider the potential consequences before using language such as calling a company "crooks" and stating that they operate fraudulantly. I am not an attorney, but I recall the words "slander and libel".

If one has a beef one wants to express, I recommend one should simply state the facts and let others draw their own conclusion.

Personally, I don't care if you call 'em names. I am just trying to give some ideas to possibly save someone potential trouble.

Yea, I understand the same law. Thus, I presented all the facts with 100% accuracy (It is not slander if everything is 100% accurate) and repeat...NEVER AGAIN IN MY OPINION Crazy Eddie IS A CROOK!!!!

That's really the risk you take when you buy online or over the phone. Personally I buy plenty of stuff online and have had very few problems. I would never buy an item that large without a hands on inspection unless I'd done biz with them before.

If your so interested in saving money (I assume that's why you didn't buy it locally), buy one on one of the local foo foo shops when they have the yearly clearance sales.

Also, 3k in my opinion is worth hiring an attorney taking a road trip to Eddies or hopping on a plane to see them.

Oh yeah one more thing.

Call it like you it and don't be afraid of doing what's right.

The only way to keep these people in check is to let people know. That's one of the greatest things about the net. What you say is no longer controled by greedy corporations and lawyers.

Sorry about my poor proof reading folks.

I meant to say "call it like you see it" and "buy one from one"

I think Crazy Eddie is great...just printed their web ad and took it to Sears which matched their price.

My recent experience with Crazy Eddie was favorable. The 34" Panasonic HDTV Ready receiver was priced right and delivered working and on-time. Competition Sound on the other hand, took my order, charged my credit card and told me (in writing) that the unit had shipped. After 2 weeks of correspondence, they finally admitted that the unit was on back order. In all internet transactions, let the buyer beware.

The first clue should have been when the owner filed bankruptcy and fled the country with all the money, then they nailed him in Israel. That was back in the 80's. My recommendation for A/V needs is J&R Music World (www.jandr.com) they will match any price and go way below cost even just to keep you as a customer. I saved 350 dollars on my Onkyo 787 list price $999.99, my price $650. And that was when the unit first came out. TIP: You have to have prices to compare otherwise they dont really barter much.

I had a good experience buying a $700 Sony A/V receiver from Crazy Eddie about 2 months ago.
