Anyone has the code for HP LCD TV model LC3040N? Or the "real" manufacturer of this LCD TV?

Thanks!

I'm also looking for an OEM name to match a code that will work with the HP LC3040N

Here's what I found:
[Link: h10025.www1.hp.com]

"If HP is not listed in the supported brand codes for the universal remote, try using one of the Philips TV codes that is available. The remote control for your HP TV may transmit Philips-licensed remote control codes. After programming your universal remote control with a Philips TV code, it can operate your HP TV functions for volume, mute, power, and input source."

I'm trying to get my Xbox 360 (HD DVD remote/media center extender) to work
[Link: xbox.com]

I tried ALL the Philips codes listed and none worked.

If you look at the HP link above, it shows advanced details of each button code. Does anyone know how to match it to another OEM name maybe?

I wonder if only the new 2nd/3rd generation TV codes are Phillips. The LC3040N is the 1st generation HP TV and might not be Phillips?

This forum was the only thing I found on google so far.

I also sent a support request to Microsoft Xbox support via their web site. Here's why I said:

"Hello, I'm trying to locate the correct Xbox 360 universal remote control IR code so it will control my HP TV. Your web page doesnt list the code for Hewlett Packard. [Link: xbox.com]
I have the HP LC304010. The HP web site lists the advanced IR details/ discrete codes for every button. [Link: h10025.www1.hp.com]
Could you please forward this to someone that could help me match my tv's code to one that might work in the remote? Besides trying every Philips code, I also tried the channel up/down method to see if the TV would turn off. It never did after many many presses. Please help!"

Hi, Jon!

Thank you for writing Xbox Customer Support!

I deeply apologize for the inconvenience and as I understand, you are trying to set up your Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote to work with your HP TV.

The list of compatible TVs and their codes are found on [Link: xbox.com]. I am very sorry but these are the only TVs that are compatible with the Universal Media Remote at the moment.

But don't worry, we do take comments and suggestions seriously and we keep an internal database that we consult and prioritize.

Please try scanning for a code in the meantime.
a.Turn on the TV, and then point the remote control toward the TV.
b.Press and hold the TV button and the OK button at the same time for two seconds. All the buttons on the remote control will illuminate for two seconds. Then, only the numeric TV buttons (1–12) remain illuminated.
c.Press the CH+ button or the CH– button to send a series of off commands to the TV. Continue to press the CH+ button or the CH– button until the TV turns off. Note Give enough time for the TV to respond to the off command after you press each button. Some TVs take more time to react to off commands than other TVs.
d.Press the TV button to save the code and to exit. All the buttons on the remote control will blink three times to confirm the code.

For further assistance, please don't hesitate to write back or call Xbox Phone Support at 1-800-4MYXBOX or 1-800-469-9269 (United States and Canada); or 425-635-7180 (International/direct dial to the US) at your earliest convenience. We are open everyday 9am-1am EST/6am-10pm PST.

To expedite service, please provide Service Request Number 1034074812 when you call.

Good News! You may link your console to your Windows Live ID, and check repair status online at the web site: http://service.xbox.com.

Sincerely,
Jenny

Hey guys. I just bit the bullet and bought the logitech harmony ($20) to solve this. I will be uploading the codes as soon as I teach my tsu7000.

By the by, I wrestled with this for AGES before I "bit the bullet". The RC-6A codes found on HP's website are wrong!!!!
