Forgive if this ends up long, gonna try to give as much info to help someone with an suggestion. Here goes, being the tightwad i am and took a chance on a philips src2063wm/17. Here is the deal, I have a rca home theater in a box, [another tightwad purchase] anywho with this remote there is no aux, This a 2 remote package... one with tv/dvd/dvr/cbl/vcr/sat and other one just tv/cbl/dvr.
So is there a way to get the rca HT to work on other device keys other than tv/cbl? I have spent hrs going thru near every way or code i could. I figure the remote with no aux there is not gonna be a way, thus another waste on a remote. I have tried to best of patience to do a code search on each device key, darn remote to set code you have to hold device key down till blinks twice, then code, when 2 flashed press device key again twice. Also looked all over web for codes to see if any success, nada. This is last attempt to find an answer. I also tried to hold key till flashes twice with the rca unit on then press channel up many times. Nada, nada, nada
Trust me i tried bunches of ideas i've had, if you can suggest something i will be eternally gratefull. You can send an rc mail or i will keep an eye on this forum thread. I like the feel of this remote but about to give up...

The manual states . . .
TV - Traditional TV, LCD / PlasmaTV and projection TV,TV part of TV / VCR, TV / VCR / DVD and TV / DVD combos DVD - DVD player / recorder (DVDR), DVD / Hard Disk Drive combination (DVDR-HDD), Blu-Ray player, High Definition DVD player (HD-DVD), DVD part of TV / DVD, TV /VCR / DVD and VCR / DVD combos
CBL/SAT - Cable box, satellite receiver, Internet Protocol TV (IPTV), Free To Air TV, High DefinitionTelevision decoder (HDTV), Digital Television (DTV) and Tivo VCR - (SRP2006WM only) Video cassette player / recorder,VCR part of TV/ VCR,TV/VCR/DVD and VCR/DVD combos
DVR - (SRP2006WM only) Digital / Personal Video Recorder (DVR / PVR), Tivo
. . . so straight away I think it unlikely you'll get it to control your HT - and almost certainly not on one button. You may have some success splitting the functions . . .
How do I set up the remote control for combo devices (TV / VCR, TV / DVD, DVD / VCR, etc)? Some combo devices require you to set up two different device selection buttons to control both parts of the combo device. For example, if you have a TV / DVD combo, you might need to set up the remote control for both TV and DVD to operate your TV / DVD combo.
. . . but again, I think it unlikely.

Great News!! We can program most Philips Universal Remotes with Automatic Code Searh. Here's how it works on most of our remotes. Programming with Code Search 1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled. 2. Press and hold Code Search button until the red indicator stays on. Release the Code Search button. 3. Press and release the desired mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blink, then stays lit. 4. Press the Channel Up button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device could be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit. If you accidentally overshoot the code required, press the Channel Down button to backtrack through the library until the device changes channel. Pressing Channel Up changes direction to forward again. Press and release the Mute button to install the code. The above assumes that you want to store the VCR you want under the VCR but, Cable codes under the CBL, etc Note: if the device does not have a chat channel at a button, you should Play (VCR only) or Power instead. Here is a Code List on PDF that shoud be universal for most remotes. It worked for me. [Link: remotecodelist.com]Hope this helps you out, good luck. Barry ( Endtimes12@hotmail.com)
