I have a Marantz 5000 that works on the 922 4DTV(although from a different remote and a model 920 instead of the model 922 I am trying to use now). Eitherthe 920 or 922 remote work on the current machine 922. The marantz RC5000 with the learned codes from the 920 still works on the 422. But trying to learn commands from either of the old remotes works on only 4 commands(6,7,8,ch-).
I cut and pasted the hex codes from the RC5000, which I imported from the ccf, into the prontoNG. All but about 5 worked(ch+,ch-,vol+,vol-,mute) the trouble is i really need the missing ones (ch+,ch-,vol+,vol-). I have successfully learned ch- from one of the remotes however the remote is still not complete.
The codes I learned from either remote and the codes that I imported from what I learned on the RC5000 are all different for the same command. I tried increasing the duration of the IR code to .2 but that didn't help.
I would like to get this fixed so I can learn for this device. BTW, I have learned successfully commands for about 8 other devices with no problem. I even downloaded Dana Rodakis's configuration file for the 4DTV that he had in the files section. It was for a tsu3000 but I tried the codes that he had in his IR section, but the few of his that I tested didn't work at all(they were different from everything else).
For you IR experts out there I will post the different IR Codes for all the different scenarios. This has been consuming my life for the last two weeks and I might not get them posted for a day or two.
I haven't had the software working for my RC5000 since I changed OS on my PC. I am going to try and load the new software and learn with the old Marantz to see if I get better success. But that will take a while, I don't even know if I can connect to my new PC with the old cord. I have forgotten what it plugs into and I don't know if I had the capability anymore. I tried it when I first got the new computer but the new PC wouldn't recognize the RC5200 remote at that time.
Help please.

What NG model are you using? You only mention your old 5000.

Also, a duration of 0.2 is quite low. If you are experimenting with duration, you should try significantly higher durations.

Tsu7500. what do you think is High enough duration? Every other device I use default duration and I don't know what the default is. I am not at home to look it up in the help if in fact it is there.
Thanks

If you are experimenting, start with high figures (like 1 second) then if that works, see how low you can go.

Thanks Peter, but still no success. I kicked the duration up to 1 full sec on CH+,ch-,vol+,Vol- and still nothing. This is really crucial to beng able to use the remote for the Satellite because ch+,ch- are really page up page down on the guide and because that is the only way we find out what is on all the east and west feeds(C-Band Satellite) it is really a bummer. Any other ideas would really be appreciated. This commands worked fine on the RC5000. Exact same hex codes.

Post both working and non-working codes here and someone may be able to figure it out.

Note that the ones that work are all 32 groups long. All of the non-working ones are not 32 groups long.

Maybe Johnsfine will step in and assist.

You could use MakeHex.exe with the file GI4dtv.irp to produce the full set of 256 clean commands and then test/select from those. But (unless you do a LOT of testing) that requires knowing which functions have which numbers. That might be more work than you need to go through.

It is a common code set, so there are several CCF files available that have most of the command set for your 4DTV device, including some you say you don't have. For example:

I emailed a CCF file of all 256 commands generated by MakeHex. I hope CCF is a practical format for you to merge from (I never remember which Pronto model needs what).

All but about 5 worked(ch+,ch-,vol+,vol-,mute)

The function number for each of those is:

11 ch+
16 ch-
7 vol+
4 vol-
2 mute

thanks john. I have imported ccf files into ProntoNG before. The 7500 appears to be touchy than the rc5000. I tried Dana's codes which did not work. I will try all of them this evening or tommorrow or this weekend(car problems). I will get back and post what I did or didn't achieve.

All John emailed me the ccf that had all the codes I needed. I also needed browse(33) AND future(34). John identified these from the codes that wouldn't work that I emailed him. I have incorporated all the codes he sent me as a device in my pcf. So if someone else needs it they can download my ccf from the files section. I will upload it in a week or two so that I know everything is working the way I want it to. This was his comment
Those are commands 33 and 34 for device unit 3. But so far as I
understand, your device responds to signals for device unit 0. The
entire file I sent you was for unit 0. So I think commands 33 and 34
from that file should work.
