What I would find really useful, is if there was a template for the device icons, in each of the blue, green and red. You know - just the blank icon without the writing up the top or the 'device picture' in the middle.

Even better for my personal adaptation of Daniel's config, it would be great to have a blue device icon with the white writing of 'watch', and a red one with the label of 'listen' and a green one with 'play'.
That way on the 'activities' screen you could have a 'watch' device icon with a dvd picture, or a 'listen' to tuner icon etc.

Unfortunately that is beyond my photoshop skills :(

Daniel, one of the noticable new features of your
color PCF is the ModuleName status field. It appears
this can only be added to a PCF by directly editing
the XML.

If while editing the System Page, you select View->Object Toolbox, the 'Device Overview' button will create the ModuleName Status field for you.

Are there other "hidden" System Page status fields
that you're aware of?

There are some, but they are for use by the Setup and really serve no purpose for users.

Also, it appears that the only way to adjust the
font size or color of System Page status fields
is still by editing the XML. Any idea if Philips
will add this capability to the editor any time
soon?

Hopeful, but unlikely as most of these fields have a backing image. If you choose a font that is larger than the image, there's no way to change out the image as there are no Image Properties. Additionally, some items such as ActivityStatus have multiple images and creating an editor to adjust these will potentially cause many problems. However, once you do edit the XML to create custom entries, you can reuse them by simply copying from 1 PCF to another or replacing the "template" PCF that exists in the install folder. This file is aptly named SystemPage.cfg. It's a PCF with only the System pages in disguise.

For RC9500 users - I've just finished a version of Daniels 7000 PCF and loaded it on to my 9500 - while the date, time and device is still in black at the top and not perfect, they are readable and definitely usable. For the labels at the bottom - instead of using the system labels in black, I have made transparent, white text panels and placed them at the bottom - I actually think they looks a bit better than the system font because you can match Daniel's artwork.

So 9500 users - Daniel's is without question the best PCF and it looks brilliant on the 9500 and it definitely works. We just need to get Marantz to move a bit faster and issue the upgrades and it will look even better.

Thanks again Daniel.

Cheers
Adam

Hi Daniel,

really great work. I'm just trying to adapt your great graphics to my new Nevo SL (I'm selling my TSU-3000). Is there any hint to get the device-icons into a unique color. I like the blue ones (like DVD-Jukebox). Is there any chance to convert p.e. the receiver icon (red) into this color without loosing the transparent background and so on?

Very happy, that I can use your great work!

Daniel

Just got my TSU7000 and downloaded your amazing PCF. Thanks for all the work. It's a great starting point. I'd love to be able to alter some of the graphics and create some new ones that have the exact look and feel of yours however. I can do some of it with photoshop, but can't really get all the way there. I'm willing to buy Corel Draw to do it and to make a healthy donation to the site (I should do that anyway) if you would consider posting your corel draw files for modification. Thanks for considering it. I'll watch for your reply.

Although I created my own involved ccf a couple of years ago, I've got a totally n00b question on Daniel's PCF. Is there a macro to turn on the equipment besides the "control power" page?

I created a macro for my TS-1000 so that a device is powered on when I select it. I thought that was the 'standard' way for doing things. How does Daniel's PCF do it?

<> O.K., I think I kinda understand. The power page is the jump page for power-down. So, you use the power on macro to get to the device page and then select a device? However, it doesn't make sense to power on the TV if you just want to use the CD player. What am I missing?

You have to remember that my layout is designed for my needs and usage patterns (however you can, of course, do whatever you like with it with the numerous "extra" graphics). In my situation, my DVD player provides on-screen information for all CDs played, so I keep the TV on. Although honestly I don't listen to many CDs in that room...

Belated thanks, Daniel! I just remembered that this forum doesn't provide e-mail notification of responses.

On a completely different note, are you aware of colored png cartoons for ProntoNG use? I don't expect you to search for me, but if you are aware of such files and can point me in the general direction......

Cartoons? Like Simpsons, Mickey Mouse and Power Puff Girls? No, I don't know of any prepared files, but I'm sure a Google image search will turn up plenty of images that could be modified for use on the Pronto...

Daniel points out googling. Most of what you will find are GIF and JPG files. I have been fortunate enought to find sites where folks have contributed Looney Tunes in WMF format. I forget where, but I've seen them.

PNG isn't overly popular for web distribution... high quality, but big file sizes. Seems like WMF files would still take a bit of work to convert, but vector is always better! :-)

Hi Folks

As i live in Sweden i would love to edit the text in Daniels .png buttons to swedish. Is that possible or is the button saved as a single layer file?

Regards

/Stefan

Yes, they are single-layer and daniel does not provide the multi-layer vector files for public consumption.
