I have a few questions about the 24 bit version. I understand the issues with opening the graphics in Photoshop with the lower bit versions.

As I am part way through modifying v1.02 to my needs, I don't want to start over unless necessary. Is the 24 bit version only needed for graphics I wish to modify? Further, can I simply modify the 24 bit versions of specific graphics and then move them to my "in-progress" v1.02? Would there be a benefit to simply restarting my modification with v1.03?

Thanks

Derek

Benefit - not really, since everything is converted to 16-bit or lower when downloaded to the remote. And 16-bit images open fine in Photoshop, it's the paletted images that PPENG creates that seem to cause problems, and those seem limited to text labels.

You can't really - you have to erase whatever's there then type something new in, in a similar font.

The font was mentioned earlier - Swiss721 BlkEx BT. The size, however, is irrelevant since it was originally vector artwork and what I used there has no bearing on the finished bitmap... you'll have to experiment.

Why worry about what the wife says? Do what you
feel is right and let her sort out her feelings
regarding it!!

Boarderbiker, you are either:
1. Single
2. Married only a short time
3. Married to the world's most understanding wife
4. Married to someone playing around on the side who feels guilty
5. On the verge of a divorce

I ought to know. I've been married several times.

Daniel, How do you get your channel logos to look so good. When i download my logos they nearly always have a coloured backgorund in a rectangle with the logo in the middle, where as yours are all transparent with just the logo on the button.

Well, I ended up finding most of my station logos in vector format, so it was easy to keep the backgrounds transparent and/or enhance outlines to improve readability. Some were bitmaps, and for those you have to cut the background out from around the logo. I'm a bit of a perfectionist about this sort of thing...

Daniel, one of the noticable new features of your color PCF is the ModuleName status field. It appears this can only be added to a PCF by directly editing the XML.

Are there other "hidden" System Page status fields that you're aware of?

Also, it appears that the only way to adjust the font size or color of System Page status fields is still by editing the XML. Any idea if Philips will add this capability to the editor any time soon?

I forget where I obtained that one... but no, no others come to mind.

Ok Daniel, I've read throught the whole thread and sadly no one seems to mention the two problems I have. I'm a relatively new Pronto TSU7000 owner so if my questions are answered somewhere else forgive me as I couldnt' find them.
First question is more of a problem that I can't figure out how to fix. When I go to certain screens the icons for the four buttons just below the screen don't allways apear correctly The are set to (from left to right) rewind icon, pause icon, play icon, and ff icon. I usually see just that default square box most computer systems default to when the don't know a font character. If I hit the ? button to go the Hard button info page and then hit the return arrow button to go back to the same page (and yes I'm sure I"m going back to the same page) the font charachters for those four buttons is always fixed. I'm using the newest software and FW versions.

My second question is that I get pretty bad delays when pushing those same hard buttons it makes it pretty hard to use the remote for tivo. I'm wondering if this is just and issue with the 7000s in general and I should just shut up or if trimming the pcf file more would speed things up.

Thanks for any help

If you are going to ask some question in a non-related or old thread, you should start a new thread.

Never heard of this one. Especially not on the remote. Have you tried to modify the font size?

Sorry, I don't see that issue... don't see much of a delay at all. Have you done anything weird like duplicate the bottom hard buttons onto each device page or something...

I opened Daniel's PCF and my PCF. Then, I copied the module name from Daniel's PCF to my PCF. Thus, no XML editing needed.
