I don't know how long your code has to be. But you have to add 13, to the fourth hex word, for each codesequense you add. And add the codesequense.
If you dubble the code it will look like:

I have NO idea how to input all the numbers in the previous reply. I have found simply learning commands by the "point and shoot" method to be all I've required - so far. However, I too need to have my Pronto send a learnt code for about 2 seconds - this to fire up my Panny Viera TV. The TV remote on/off button has to be held down until the red led turns green before it's ON. I want to do this in a power on macro and I would have thought the Pronto could be programmed to do this - but how?

You have to extend the IR code. I'm sure if you post the command you want to extend here, someone will do it for you. However you will need to post the code data.
You may want to also have a look in the NG forum or the Pro Forum as this has come up before there as well.
Finally, you resurrected a 9 year old thread. Not sure why but your subject likely warranted a separate thread.

I used to wonder about that. Then I googled something and google fed me a five year old RemoteCentral thread. THAT is how it's done!

we do seem to get irritated here when someone adds a new note to a thread that's so old that the original posters and repliers have probably all gone into other professions by now.
This is the Pronto Classic Forum, but you did not mention your Pronto's model number. I can give you a procedure to create a working impersonation of a long command if your remote is the right model. What is it?

How did I ressurect a 9 yr old thread? - I just followed the link that you gave me Lyndell - I didn't notice its age (or the fact this may be seen as bad form!!). Also, I DID start a new thread, but haven't had a solution posted - until I ressurected the 9 yr old thread! So, moving swiftly on!
Ernie - thankyou very much for your offer. I'm afraid I have no experience of code entry, and so your procedure will have to include the basics (sorry). The models of remote I'm working with are - Marantz RC5000i and RC9200

If you've learnt in the Viera code for Power On, even though it doesn't work, if you click on the code within Pronto Edit you will see a series of numbers not dissimilar to what has been posted above, copy and paste your codeset and post them in this thread.

OK, so I've had a look, and in the advanced menu, I have access to 5 different ways to display the code - RC5, RC 5x, RC6 mode 0, RC mode 6A and RC-MM - which one do you need?! PS - Is there a way to subscribe to this thread and get instant Email notification of a reply?

The RC5, RC6, etc formats will do you no good as they are internal representations of codes that cannot be handled by raw '0000' pronto hex. If the code that makitamark posted above does not work try this....

In both cases, I have doubled the data using copy/paste and adjusted the one-shot or repeat pair counts. For a better idea of what I did if you are interested, you can have a look at Barry Gordon's excellent document "Pronto Hex IR Format" located in the User Documentation Section of the Classic Pronto Files Area of the Files Forum.

Unfortunately, I still have no clue as to how to employ this data! The software I'm using is "Touch screen setup version 2.0.4". I've only ever used it to create CCFs from learned codes.........

In Touch Screen Editor When you click on the button that you are having problems with (power on), there is an option 'view ir'. click this and you will see the Hex representation of the code, this is the Hex we want you to Post here.
Do that first.

You should be.
Discrete IR are seperate codes for each action.
Delete the Power button you have.
Make up a new button for Power ON and use this Hex code

- and I would be for sure - if the remote had them on it! - This would be SO much better in a macro. I was not aware that discretes were available - How did you get hold of them?

Discretes are available for many products and certainly for your Panasonic TV, a quick search on this site will reveal whether or not your devices have them or not.
The Marantz remote is capable of using these Discretes, you just have to find them and know how to implement them.
