I just got a Neo. $179.00 with a 10% coupon.
I was able to download and install the new Edit on my winXP. And able to upgrade the NEO from the winXP.
I am trying to use my laptop win98 to upload the configuration and I keep getting the message "Connection with the device failed, please reboot device just after pressing OK." after about 10 seconds of uploading.
Is this a known problem and is there a workaround?
Thanks for any help.

I fixed the problem by turning off the UART FIFO (setting both XMIT and RCV to 1) in SETTINGS-CONTROL PANEL-SYSTEM-DEVICE MANAGER-PORTS-COM1-PORTS SETTINGS-ADVANCED. I also set the default speed to 115200 and flow-control to NONE (I don't think these would make any difference since the software should setup these port parameters).
I hope this helps others (assuming this actually fixed the problem permanently).

Messing with the COM Port really didn't help.
I think I fixed the communications problem by shutting down all the tasks/processes I thought I could get away with.
I guess there are some precise timing that gets interrupted by other processes. My laptop is only 233Mhz and the poor old thing can't keep it up.

Wrangler of Remotes
Buster: then I guess it's probably more to do with NEOedit's minimum requirements than it is with the serial port in particular, although laptop ports can sometimes be hard to work with.
