Roland: It was fairly well hidden, but there was a tiny black spot in the audio. It's at 1:48.06.

I have a bunch of questions regarding layer change information:

"Why?"
"Does it matter?"
"Is it useful information?".

I just see so many questions regarding layer change location that I think I must ask these questions. BTW Daniel Tonks, not that you're not doing a good job identifying these locations...

Why: Because. :-)

Does it matter: Possibly, yes. Certain players can have serious problems during layer changes, and it's nice to know (if you have those problems) whether it's related to a layer change or something else.

Is it useful information: Yes. The placement of a layer change, when improperly done, can create a noticable "blip" in the movie. For tech-heads, the first thought is "what happened; did something break". It breaks concentration on the film. Even HOW the layer change is done can determine whether it's invisible (Lost in Space), nearly invisible (Shakespeare in Love) or dang noticable (Godzilla). It's as much a part of the technical mastering of a particular disc as the video or audio transfer quality.

Not to mention that such knowledge makes GREAT trivia questions at parties when you're trying to impress the girls.

I like to know when to expect layer changes in certain movies because there has been times where the layer change has been very noticeable by a break in the audio and video followed by a change in scene.

I was watching one movie (i forget the title) where this occured, and i thought the disc skipped chapters. I had to rewind it a bit to make sure I wasn't experiencing a serious technical glitch such as my player skipping chapters.

Luckily it was just a poorly placed layer change.

As for a good movie that will show off all of that hard earned cash you poured into your HT system... I think the "lift off" scene of Apollo 13 is hard to beat.
