But it is working wireless,Just slowly. So do you want to run faster or via wireless?

Using wireless is an option but can be slower and inconsistent.

A wired network will almost always outperform a wireless network in performance and reliability.

I have everything on a wired giga bit network switch using static IP's for three wired PC's,my desktop,HTPC/server,dedicated music server running squeeze center, 1-rfx9600 and two wireless access points.

Only run WPA2 security on one access point I use from my labtops which I leave DHCP. The other access point runs no security but uses mac filtering for wireless acess only for my TSU9600. I have two different SSID's to keep my pronto TSU9600 seperated from the labtops wireless access. I am not concerned about people stealing internet were I live. So running no security for the TSU9600 network seems to give very fast response time.

I use prontosqueeze everyday and have no issues with delays or perforamce at all. If running prontosqueeze or slimserver is a priority and used everyday then run a Cat5 wired and be done with it. If you take the time to run a Cat5 to your rack run an extra or two so in case in the furture you need something else.

Yes of course wired is more reliable but I currently have two laptops (and the TSU 9600) that have been working fine on wireless for years. I am only having issues with the TSU 9600 modules connecting to the squeezebox server. Even the squeezebox boom is working reasonably well (occasional connection issues). Maybe the problem is not with my wireless network? (Note that I never had problems running PadOne on the same server)

Could the lack of answers be a sign that many share my puzzleness on the matter? If my network works fine with PadOne, shouldn't it be fine for Squeezebox Server as well?

To add to this topic, I just bought the iPod/iPhone application called Squeemote and I am very pleased with it. While not as elaborate as Slimpronto/ProntoSqueeze, I find that it is an interesting alternative with very reasonable response time.
