I've not seen the latest but the inability to compare
2 pages side-by-side I think is going to be a detriment.

Can't compare 2 pages side by side anymore??? WTF?? That, i think, is a serious brain fart on Philips behalf. Being able to see the 2 or 3 pages of the activty you're making adjustments too (or creating from scratch) is quite import to me and i'm sure others aswell.

Not good enough. I can live without hidden code pages and would even put up with the non-adjustable simulator but not being able to see multiple pages when working is crazy.

Oh well. I suspect that they did this as Links are no longer supported. As you can no longer link you should not need to see 2 pages. Not quite sure about the logic in the thinking.

In all fairness, I will not comment further on my likes/dislikes until others have had a chance to load/try the software.

There is a completely new development environment. You will have to see it to understand (and then make comments). There are some losses but many gains.

I just liked the fact when i was creating screens for a new activity i could have them all open then just "control drop" all the relevant buttons from page to page without having to continually select it from the button menu every time i wanted one. I could then just go in and arrange them correctly after. Now sounds like have to open each page individually and select the first button and then do the control drop for that 1 page and so on.

Still, guess we shall have to wait and see what the overall big picture is when the software is out. Hopefully it's soon.

It seems some posters are already using v2...

So am I correct in saying that I currently cannot save RS232 codes in my database? Or is it that I am missing something when I am currently using them from a hidden page? If linking to hidden pages go away does that mean that I will be able to move all my RS232 codes into my datablase in some elegant way?

No, no, did not miss that post, I am talking about the current application PEP V1 where I have to manually add RS232 and configuration options. I do not know a method to store current RS232 information in the database. I was curious as to if a way exists to do it currently.

Not in PEP V1, but V2 will handle RS232.

Make sure that you name every IR code in the name field if you capture a custom code, as you may have problems when you have to import them into PEP2.

I think the question of globetrotter was, how we are supposed to save our RS232 codes from hidden pages to the database in preparation of the transition to PEP2.

Since in PEP2 we cannot open two configs at the same time anymore this is asking for trouble...

Thanks Chris, that is exactly what I was attempting to ask.

Just imported a PEPV1 project. What happens is that all your RS-232 codes are moved into a Project component that requires an extender. This component is then added to "MyDatabase" for use and is attached to your project.

However, the same practice is NOT honored for IR codes. You must manually move those yourself.

Is there likely to be much more of a wait for V2 to be released? Can't be far off surely?
