Just after some information as to whether the mains adaptor for the MX3000 and MRF350's in the USA are a multiple voltage adaptor?

I am going to purchase an MX3000 and MRF350 via the US and need to know if the mains adaptors supplied are multiple voltage (i.e will take 100v to 240v) or they are only 110V as used in the US.

Thanks in advance

Dani

Could someone please look at the sticker on the power pack that plugs in the wall of the remote and mrf250, 300 or 350 and see what the sticker say the input voltage is for me please?

Thanks DC

DC,

The AC adapter I have for my MX-3000 certainly is. Have an MRF-250, but not too sure about the adapter (not plugged in at the moment). I can check later on and will update you. On the other hand, they are cheap chinese manufactured adapters, so you should have no problem getting an equivalent replacement in the 220/240volt world.

However, be warned about the software issue and purchasing from Auth. Distributor, or face not being able to get software updates/ir database updates. A hot topic of discussion at the moment. Last thing you want is a new paperweight!

Is that yours is 110v or multiple volage?

Thanks

Yes I plan to get one through an authorised dealer in the US. Any ideas on who can do a great deal?

Cheers

Sorry - my post was really not clear - meant to say mine is 110/240 volt. However, here is the complete scoop on power supplies I have. Not sure if they have changed these at all during the life of the units (mine is over 2 years old)

MX-3000 comes with a 110-250 volt adapter (Output Dc 5V 2.0A - 5mm plug polarity not marked)
MRF-250 comes with a 110 volt adapter (Output DC 9V 300mA - 5mm plug with negative on the outside)

Both units are of Korean origin. Hope this helps. No ideas on Dealers - I'd go with the list on URC site. However, as you are buying for export, none should charge any sales tax. The bad news is that this will most likely violate URC's restrictions regarding distributors. i.e. territorial conflict. If I am correct, you are in Oz and they have an online distributor (http://www.leisuretech.com.au/). Only way I can think of getting around this is to have it sent to a US address. Have you looked at the TSU9600 Pronto. Looks really good and was last seen selling on eBay for a very good price. Take a look - you may rethink your choice (it has a 640x480 display, WiFi, etc.) take a look, price is not a whole lot different

Best of luck, and good job on the Ashes so far!

Thanks for all that, appreciate the support.

The problem with buying local is that they all want to become millionaires overnight here in Aust. The MX3000 and a MRF350 = $2500 au which equals $1946 US.

As you can see the price difference is just plain rude! I want to buy from an Authorised US dealer, but if I cant I will have to buy from ebay as I refuse to pay $2500 au for what costs a fraction of the price in the US.

I looked at the Marantz and Philips range but I need addressible IR ports that the Universal MRF offers but the Marantz/Philips doesnt.

Its all such a headache!

Cheers,

Dani

Well, I might just have a barely used, like new MX-3000 + MRF-250 that I'll be selling if URC don't change their policy. Only problem is that I do not have access to Live Update function because of the dealer issue. I'm fairly happy with the unit, but not their policies. Only issue I have read is around interference with the MRF-250, so this could be another problem area. Supposedly better/fixed in the other RF units.
cheers,
Richard

Yes their policies are VERY strange. I want to purchase a unit from the US but the dealers are concerned about selling it outside the US.

Effectively the arent selling it outside the US, I am buying it in the US. I am seeking the dealer out, they are not actively trying to sell it to me! Anyway.....

Dani,
Philips do have a RFX9400 with addressable IR ports (4 per unit), and you can use up to 16 extenders. Take a look at their site & documentation ([Link: pronto.philips.com]).
