Controls up to 8 devices: The RM-VL900 can control up to 8 devices. Buttons are labeled for TV, VCR, Cable/Satellite, DVD, CD, MD, Tape, Amplifier/Receive. Components may be reassigned or copied, for instance convert "MD" into a second VCR.

11 system control macros: Each can be up to 16 steps long. Three are available at all times on dedicated System Control buttons. Another eight may be assigned to the Component Select buttons and run when the button is held down for two seconds. Delays between commands may be configured for each macro, to either 127ms, 408ms, 708ms or 974ms.

Favorite channel macros: The "TV", "Cable" and "Satellite" devices can have between five and six short macros with 4 steps each, aliased to the keypad.

Preprogrammed codes: The RM-VL900 features a large database of IR codes for a wide variety of devices. The full list is available on the next page.

Code learning: The RM-VL900 can learn onto up to 35 buttons under each device. Plus, each System Control or Component Select button may have a single learned command. Learning frequencies extend up to 500KHz with codes up to 250 bits long.

Strong IR broadcasting: Two IR transmitters ensure a strong and wide infrared beam.

47 physical buttons: 35 may be assigned any command, 8 are for component selection, three are for system macros and one is used for remote configuration.

Dual key assignments: Some buttons can hold a dual-key sequence; for instance INPUT plus a keypad button from 0 to 6 will directly select the input on a Sony television. A similar feature is available for Sony VCRs. RECORD functions may be stored on an instant REC button, or a safer REC+PLAY combination.

Volume buttons may be configured so they adjust the television’s video for video devices and the receiver’s for audio, or the receiver’s for both. The volume buttons may also be learned over for each component if desired.

The remote may be locked so that it is completely inoperational until a specific key combination is pressed.

Copy one remote to another: The RM-VL900 can be duplicated to – or from – other remotes with the [T] symbol on them.
