Strengths:Whatever you dream it can come true with this remote control.
Weaknesses:Needs some form of protection bumper in case of those falls from the coffee table or couch.
Review:Completely customizable what else can I say.

Strengths:CUSTOMIZABLE!
CUSTOMIZABLE!
CUSTOMIZABLE!
Weaknesses:None that even came close to making me regret buying it!
Review:I'll keep it short. This remote is the best thing I've ever purchased. Unlimited macros, design your own buttons, learning. You can really do anything with it. You're only limited by your own creativeness. I bought mine from hypaudio.com for $300. Came brand new in the box, and was much cheaper than anywhere else. Knowing how much I know now about it, I would have easily paid more. You just have to be willing to spend some time setting it up on a computer to really get results. I spent about 10-15 hours before I got it setting it up on the computer. If you look at the ProntoEdit software before purchasing, it really gives you an idea of what can be done on it. I've seen a lot of people on this review site that say it is junk or too hard to learn. No offense, but these people are probably not very computer literate or not willing to take the time to learn. It is not a hard software program to learn. Download some CCF files from other people, and look at what they did. Then start your own. That's the best way to learn.

I had many questions about this remote before I bought it, and know how hard it was getting the answers. So, if you'd like, email me at mc19991999@hotmail.com with any of your questions and I'll get back to you ASAP. It was hard getting someone at Philips to answer all my questions. Good luck!

Strengths:There's almost nothing you can't control with this remote, you can programme it to work exactly how YOU want it to, change the user interface to how YOU want it.
Weaknesses:It can't get you a beer while watching a film!
Review:I've had this remote for about 2 months, i managed to get it programmed to do ALL the standard functions that my TV/VCR/SKY/DVD/CD/TAPE/AMP remotes did the first night very easily and without losing my temper once. It took me a day or two to work out the pronto edit software and with common sense and a bit of trial and error come up with a basic ccf that worked well and did what i needed it to. I am now working on the ccf that will do everything i want, customised to the way i want it with the logos that i've got off this webstite and finished in Photoshop and Paint ive got the remote as i want it. So to all the people that cry about it not being user friendly and needing a computer degree to work it out, i think you'd all have a problem programming a video in the first place!!!!

Strengths:Custom graphics and logos.
Very powerful programming features. Makes my home theater setup accessable to anyone with the touch of a button.
Weaknesses:Touch screen is picky.
Not comfortable to hold.
Okay contrast, could be better.
Not enough hard buttons.
Review:This would be the perfect remote if it had some more hard buttons, like the MX-1000, which I might give a try. Overall I am happy with this product, and $230 is not a bad deal. It looks cool and works pretty well, even for a complete stranger. I like to hold the remote while watching TV or DVDs so I'm not happy with size and width of the unit and it needs more buttons.

Strengths:None
Weaknesses:Need a computer degree to fingure this out
Review:This is absoluetly and totally confusing. I get no support, am unable to figure out how to format, etc. I do 100% better with the remote provided by my cable company.

Strengths:Numerous features, easy to handle with one or both hands.
Weaknesses:Weak contrast in well lit areas.
Review:The manual is extremely concise with very limited programming detail. No support number is listed. Software comes with absolutely no user instructions or troubleshooting detail even within the program itself.
