URC Uncovers MRX-4IR Base Station
Because small jobs only need a small base station!

RC News Story
In the “aww, isn’t that cute!” department, URC has uncovered the tiny MRX-4IR Base Station for use with Total Control remotes. The MRX-4IR has, predictably, 4 infrared emitter ports, plus a wired ethernet port for communication with other Total Control network devices.

URC Introduces MRX-4IR Network Base Station

Inventive accessory extends Total Control® to those “hard-to-reach” places.

Indianapolis – CEDIA EXPO 2012 – Booth 4462 – September 5-8, 2012 – URC introduced the MRX-4IR Network Base Station, an elegant solution for remote and difficult-to-access places in a home or business.

The MRX-4IR is targeted for locations in a Total Control® system where dealers can’t or don’t want to run Cat5 or use a separate remote, or where it doesn’t make sense to add other URC Network Controllers. The MRX-4IR, like all Total Control® components, sits on the network to expand Total Control's capabilities and provide URC dealers with a one-stop-shop solution for all their home control needs.

“The MRX-4IR is perfect for integration professionals who need a non-intrusive in-room base station to control ceiling-mount projectors or flat panel TVs over a fireplace or to control the TV in the kitchen where there is no room for a larger piece,” said Doug Cole, URC senior vice president and general manager. “Its small size allows it to be easily concealed or to fit into places where a traditional base station wouldn’t, or where an integrator may not need to install a full-blown URC Advanced Network Controller. It’s yet another example of how we are always thinking of ways to provide the best options for installers.”

Communicating over the network using Wi-Fi or a wired Local Area Network connection, the MRX-4IR receives commands from the URC Advanced System Controller and relays them via IR to other devices in the system. The MRX-4IR features four IR flasher outputs and a front IR blaster.

The MRX-4IR will be available this fall. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
