PHILIPS PRONTO RELEASES PRONTOEDIT PROFESSIONAL3 SOFTWARE FOR A MORE CUSTOM PROGRAMMING EXPERIENCE

Pronto’s new ProntoEdit Professional3 (PEP) software offers custom installers enhanced customization options and improves the functionality and efficiency of programming Pronto control panels.

Atlanta, GA – CEDIA Expo 2010 – September 23-26 – Booth #2828 – Philips Pronto, the value leader in two-way control solutions, ha s announced the release of its ProntoEdit Professional3 (PEP) software for configuring and programming Pronto control panels. Building off the enhancements of PEP 2.4, launched earlier this year, PEP3 improves overview and programming efficiency when programming Pronto control panels with its Master Project View and has been updated specifically for enhanced programming for the company’s newly introduced TSW9500 in-wall panel.

One of the most exciting features of PEP3 is the introduction of Master Project View which allows multiple control panels to be configured and stored in one master project file. This enables programmers to reuse system settings, IR codes, macros and graphical assets over an entire project, greatly improving the overview, consistency and overall efficiency of programming Pronto systems in larger installations. By default, all projects created with PEP3 will be s aved as master projects. Installers can also use existing configurations and ProntoScript modules within PEP3, so projects already created can be reused and enhanced under the new PEP.

The PEP3 also enables smart conversion in just two mouse clicks of configurations that have already been created for Pronto’s TSU9600 and TSU9800 handheld control panels so they can be simply downloaded to Pronto’s newly introduced TSW9500 in-wall panel, resulting in faster installation times for installers. The smart conversion will reorganize all hard button functions that were present on the handheld, so conversion becomes "plug and play". Full files created for the TSU9600 and TSU9800, including ProntoScript modules, are converted to the TSW9500. Additional key functions from the TSU9600/TSU9800 that do not fit on the TSW9500’s five firm buttons are copied to an overlay page, so no functionality i s lost in translation. The overlay page can be triggered by one of the firm keys on the TSW9500, and will, like an elevator door slide in from left and right.

Besides the new master project view, its support for the TSW9500, and new sliding panel features, ProntoEdit Professional3 also features:

  • Re-sizeable and dockable windows to assist in more complex programming tasks, such as, creating user interface graphics.

  • Display and editing of multiple pages on a single screen to help with smoother, faster programming workflow.

  • Re-usable macros. Once set up and used, programming macros can be simply stored and re-used when configuring repeate d actions in multiple locations in a project.

  • Rotary wheel enhancements. Actions can be ascribed to the rotation / counter-rotation of the controller’s rotary wheel eg. controlling volume or light levels.

  • Improved font selection. Any Windows PC font can now be easily selected and used in PEP3

  • Dynamic user interface. PEP3 brings improved dynamic graphic and text property control, adjustment and object manipulation through improvements to ProntoScript.

PEP3 will be available soon to authorized Pronto dealers through the professional section of the company’s website.

Will this work with the TSU2000/TSU6000 ?
No. Those models require ProntoEdit 4.0, from 2002.
We want to buy a 9600 but the sales person tells us it is impossible to get this new software. Only installers can get it. Is this true?
