I have a lamp and appliance module (not sure which to use) for Xmas lights on my tree. I have roughly 600 lights (minis). I have 2 sets of 3 light sets plugged into each other, each with an extension cord into a power strip. Is it ok to just plug the power strip into the lamp/appliance module? I figured as long as the wattage is less than the module can handle, I should be ok.

Today is the first day of X-10 for me (bought the starter kit from X10.com with the Acitve Home software). This stuff is awesome. I can't wait to get more modules.

Thanks guys.

And you would generally be correct.

I'd go with the appliance module, unless you want to dim the lights to set a'mood'. Note that the flasher or blinking type of lights may require full line voltage which can only be acheived with an appliance module. Also if a transformer (wall wart) is used go with the appliance module.
