Hello
I have several x-10 circuits in my home.I have WS-12a's on both phases without a coupler and they work remotely just about everytime. As i added more circuits.now when i give any address a dim command they dim all the way down to nothing like a 5 second ramp down.Sometimes i can get them to ramp up by pressing the dim button again, this isnt always the case. After this event the remote wont work till i press the wall switch off then back on again and sometimes it ramps up and when pressed off it ramps down. When i press the wall switch again this seems to clear the bad memory.I just wonder what made my switchs all ramp down to zero after i added more circuits. Is my signal bouncing around and on dim press becomes many in succession? Again for just remote on and off presses i get nearly 100% performance but now i can dim remotely. Can my ac interface be bad? Thanks for any help

What are you using as a transmitter/controller?

The cheaper RF transceiver (plug in module with an extendable metal antenna) has been known to lock up sending multiple dim commands.

Also, do you have any other transmitters/controllers? If so, does the same behavior occur when using any transmitter or just when using one of them?

hello

Yes i do have one of the cheaper plug in modules. What models are better? I have a few remotes, the keychain style, the table style and a few slim 3 bottom wall swtiches. All controllers have the same result. When i just had one x10 circuit i could dim properly with all these remotes. As soon as i added one more the problem developed.
Thanks

Try unplugging the RF transceiver and see if your wired controller still causes the same problem. I don't have the part number of the better transceiver handy but we'll get that later if this turns out to be the problem.

I dont have a wired contoller.I do have an OnQ HMS 950 but have unhooked the powerline interface till i can get the dimming sorted out.The HMS works intermitantly so perhaps need a phase coupler or filters.Again the circuits work great for just off and on with my remotes. What do you mean by a wired controller.Sorry i am so dense LOL

Thanks again
I did order the the Super RF tranciever model RR501 perhaps that will work

A wired controller is anyone that is connected directly to the powerline via a cord or directly hard-wired in. Common examples are the mini-controller, maxi-controll, and the IR543.

I would also be intrested in a better controller. Are there any that would handel all house codes? Email me a link if you guys find one.

I also have the dimming issue.
