I sent everyone I know at RTI a message about this. I also sent the ebay dude a rather to the point message.

You know, this brings up a good point, how come the software itself is not password protected?

On Mar-07-08 at 22:50:19 PST, seller added the following information:

I've been sent some e-mails threatening me about giving you the software info. The company told me I could, but since I don't like being threatened I won't be able to provide the login info. I will give you the contact info for the company, you can contact them, and they can give you the info. Even though I have been given permission, I guess that you need to get permission too!!!!! I'm sorry that a few bad apples make life hard for everyone!

That be me. I had filed an intellectual property right infringement with Ebay. This guy wrote me an email only a lunatic could put together.

If he had been given permission to give the buyer the log in info, then he should have added contact info so that a buyer could verify this.
And if all this were true, then all sorts of people from this site (and others) could have flooded RTI with WTF e-mails and demand to know why the company was taking this new direction.

Where the heck did he even get the remote, nothing about what he buys and sells on e-bay says he has access to the line.

The Bigger question is where did he get the password? He indicated to me that he was not a dealer and cared less about the product, he was just trying to move some junk he aquired?

Some one could have given him the information who works at a distributer or anyone with an channel that is not dealing RTI.

Look on ebay, someone is selling a t3 with the software on a cd.

I sent an email to MIke Everett and RTI support when the auction was at 5 days and they didn't have it removed. One before that made it thru and the seller said they gave out the info to the buyer. Now there is a third on there

I think the software has made its way to a Hacker site, there are a couple that claim to have it, however you have to be a member to verify this, and Ill bet it is full of spyware

all the ones I see listed so far are for used remotes. Granted, Im not happy about the software being out there, but at least they are USED remotes. I dont mind that so much, as I wont get shopped, and its not a "devalue the line" issue.
No, I wont install your plasma with an orange extension cord hanging down the wall.
