Hello. has anyone controlled an Anthem AVM-50 with 232??

If so mind sharing the 232 strings??

I have a rush job in a day and busy until then, looking to save some time, although the strings look prety easy

Thanks
Glack

Ok stayed late at the office to create the 232 file, will test it out in the morning and see what happens, if it works I will send it to Troy

Better work......theres like 20 main command strings and like 300 surround modes, is Anthem a high end Yamaha????? Just kidding!!!

and it has timers for off and on times like an alarm clock for all 3 zones...I didnt go that far, just the main control and surround modes

There's also a command that lets you display any custom text on the main OSD. You can have little popups about secuity (motion first floor, etc. ) or doorbell, phone etc. Pretty cool.

The Anthem rep called yesterday to ask if we were interested. I told him I had not seen the gear.

Glack... let me know what you think of the stuff over all.

An example of the power on/off codes I used for the AVM 50- running through an RP6 Via T4 remote.

P1P1\n (19200, 8N1)
and power off P1P0\n

The anthem seems to be a pretty nice pre amp, handles video upconverting well along with the ability to deal with 2.35:1 scaling too.

Glack, I have a Anthem RS-232 templete I store all the stings on a RP-6 program. I did a AVM 50 a while ago and it works great. Had trouble with the surround modes and haven't had a chance to go back to fix yet. If you want my templete let me know and I will shoot you an email. Just fix the surround stings and your golden. Should save you some time.

The Anthem is a line I would avoid, the video upconversion is not good on HDMI, we kept losing the DVD and Sat video...Via HDMI, switch from DVD to Sat and BAM...video gone, reset the anthem and all was good until you switched back to DVD and BAM video gona again
The surround modes didnt work, so we just set them up to default to soething on each source. Im gladd we didnt sell this thing.

It runs very very very hot too..so did the Denon DVD-5910CI player...almost couldnt touch it

over all I wasnt impressed with it...my opinion

The 232 strings worked except the surrond modes...couldt figure them out

Over all I think we will be replacing the rest of the MX-3000's in the house now, We installed a T2C, RP-6 setup in the theater. made it so easy to use, The MX3000 system was bad...power toggle codes used on the sat, dvd, preamp and TV no global power on and off, was programmed poorly, but we dont sell that stuff anymore so wasnt interested in reprogramming, and client didnt care for them so much either

Are you turning on and off the satellite (I assume you are with the DVD).
I found as long as you power on the satellite first, the Anthem will detect it, if you switch the anthem, then power on an HDMI device it seems to get lost.
At least I am pretty sure that is what we found when setting up the clients unit we had to deal with (I don't sell them either)
