Other than their prices, I have never heard any negative comments about Polk Audio speakers.
Does anyone dislike them for quality or tonality, etc. reasons?
Thanks for your input! -Bruce

I have Polk FX 500 rears and like them alot, I also bought a satellite system for my parents. I really like Klipsch and Paradigm but I have never had a problem with the polks and I like the sound and they are a good value

We carry a few lines of speakers (polk audio, RBH, Inifinty). My experiences have been that if you are using the speakers for home theater than Polks preform rather well. The only thing I have encountered is that people tend to think hwen listening to music that the sub is a little too boomy and the highs are a tad too harsh. People that are using the speakers primarily for theater usually save themselves some money and go with the polks. On the other hand if you picture yourself playing a lot of music through them the Inifnity IL series is a nice value line speaker. They carry a lot of Inifinty's upper lines of speakers features. the BEST advice I could give you is to narrow your selection down ala prive, availibility, aesthetics and then go audition the speakers and listen to theater and or music on them. This is one decision in home equipment that 2 people rarely agree upon. The new Polk LSi25's are nice looking speakers. Good luck with your decision

I use Polk M-1's as center surrounds and they do great; used to use them for surrounds but switched to Klipsch for that.

I have two polk systems in da house, one in the family room and one downstairs in the kids recroom. I am very satisfied with their sound for both music and home theater. They offer alot of bang for the buck. You're probably aware that Polk is in the process of replacing their RTi line with a new line, so you can pick up on some great close-out prices on the RTi line right now. What's you budget? Are you looking at towers or bookshelves?

Bookshelves and surrounds. I'm just about ready to go with the B&W 600 series, but I recently got a good offer on some Polks, so I decided it couldn't hurt to do a last-minute check... :)

My opinion on the older Polks are that they are good speakers and only a decent value. There isn't a lot of praise from the audio mags and websites, and they aren't usually sold in custom audio or home theater shops. I think for equal money Paradigm, B&W, NHT, PSB, RBH, and any number of others are a better value. From what I've heard though, the new LSi series are some serious players and will probably get a lot more attention from the audio pros. I just got to hear some Axiom M3ti speakers, and they are the bargain of the century if you ask me. For price, performance and looks, these can't be beat in the same price range.
