I hope someone out there can help with this. My soon to be father in law has an old Mistubishi rear projection tv. I apologize for not having the model number. It's about 10 years old, no front inputs, 50 inch, Ant A/B and Ext 1 and 2. About a year ago he had a power surge, and now the ext 1 and 2 inputs are locked out. When you select those, it says to enter the 4 digit code to unlock the input. He called mitsubishi and they said they would have to send a service technician to fix it, costing him probably $100 or more dollars. This seems crazy. Is there anyone that might know the codes for this, or how to get the inputs to unlock. Please reply here or email me @ byteme1818@aol.com. If there is any other information you need, please let me know. Thanks in advance for your help.

I had this exact problem about a month ago (70" model of the same TV). I called Mitsubishi and talked me through it over the phone.

If I remember correctly, Kevin has the main command correct. After pressing QV+9 then enter 1111 for the code and it should unlock the inputs. I'm typing this from memory, so I'll try to find the piece of paper I wrote the original instructions on tomorrow.

I have a 61 inch Mitsubishi T.V. I believe it is a 1992 version and we have a sony remote control for it. It some how turned on to home-theatre mode and it says to press cancel to turn the mode off. With this mode on we can not recieve any cable stations. Is there any way to turn this mode off without buying an expensive remote? (we can't turn off with remote or tv consol)

Bobby, you can probably fix this with an $18 remote you will find at Wal Mart, called a "One For All Cinema 7" remote...

I tried one on a Mitsubishi tv, and it had no problems accessing EVERYTHING on that tv's menus- and it was a Diamond rear projection 16:9 aspect, brand new...
