If're you're handy, you can do some DIY stands for much cheaper.

If your design uses metal, I'm sure that metal working shops can do the cutting and welding for quite a bit cheaper than some of those stands.

For example this stand from Alden Kamp (mentioned above) can probably be made for about $100 (4 x $15 Glass, $30 in wood, $10 in finish)

Brian,
Any idea where I can get tempered glass (frosted) that can hold around 60+lbs? I would love to build my own, but somehow I don't think I can find the glass.

Also, anyone know where I can get plans for making my own racks? Thanks....Tony

Anyway, you'd be surprised at the variety of glass and mirrors available at places like Binswanger. Look under 'glass' in the yellow pages.
