I am using 4 of the RCA IR sensor/transmitter cubes ( model# 935) with one reciver going into an IR distribution block. The problem that I am having is that they will work for a while and then the transmitter shows by a small red light that it receiving my IR signal from my remote but what I am trying to control won't do anything. So I unplug the RCA IR transmitter from the wall, move it across the room and then it works. It will work for a quite a while then it will happen again.

I thought maybe I am getting interference from a piece of equipment plugged into the line someplace but I have nothing new that may be problem.

Any suggestions?

John

You're experiencing problems almost exactly like what I experienced at one time. Long story short, the RCA units are converting the IR to RF, which just isn't reliable, and impossible to troubleshoot with any solid success. (Do check though to see if the problem only happens when you're using your microwave!)

I highly recommend ditching the RF converter setup and going all hardwired. You'll be glad you did.

You could also have an issue with a lot of light hitting the IR receiving window on one or more of the IR receivers. Question do you get the problems in the night time with all lights in the house off also. try that. If you still have problems take Steve's advice and Junk it for a hard wire system. I also reccommend that as well. Next put the RCA's in the MICROWAVE, set to high and cook for 6 min. Let cool, then eat.
IR to RF to IR is a poor, cheep way to go. Check out WWW.Xantech.Com, WWW.Russound.Com, WWW.Niles.Com, They all have cool hard wire systems that really work to.

Good Luck

I would suggest not having them near any strong RF energy, such as a television set. Move them as far away as possible from RF and magnetic interference.
