WUAB-43 (RF 28) Cleveland has sold its frequency to the FCC through the reverse auction.  Their programming will continue to broadcast over-the-air on on its (Raycom) sister station WOIO-DT-19 (RF 10) Shaker Heights.

WBBZ did participate in round one of the reverse auction and was offered to move to low VHF.  But because the offers the wireless companies gave were too low in the first round of the forward auction for 114 MHZ, hence only 84 MHZ was to be acquired, the FCC did not need WBBZ's bid.

WNYO RF 5 ,Lets hope they go straight ASTC 3.0 because ASTC 1.0 wont work well beyond 30 miles from WNYO tower.Otherwise I would say they took a cash grab and OTA users will lose their signal. How many are going to install a VHF low antenna outside to get WNYO ??

By Ari Meltzer on March 6, 2017 Posted in Broadcast Regulation, Spectrum

As partFCC of its pilot project for meeting transparency, the FCC has released the text of an order on its March agenda to expand channel sharing outside of the auction context.  The draft order will fill in many holes in the current channel sharing regime, but it still includes several restrictions on the type of channel sharing agreements that will be permitted.

As the AVS forums are reporting channels changes too, i.g. WQLN-Erie moving to RF
,  it should be noted that these channel re-assignments are not final, and the NAB is in the process of filing an early report on these changes.

There does not appear to be enough room on UHF band for everyone.I read that CHEX is considering shutting down the Oshawa repeater.
