I'm getting Rochester channels 8, 13 and 21 for the first time tonight.
I live in Aurora.  What's going on?

Its called Tropo, it wont last for long. Sometimes the condition's of the weather will bring in some channels.

WNLO has applied for an extension of their STA, the CP is good for July 2022, but the STA was only good for January 29, 2020. They have received the STA extension, up to 7/28/2020, the good news is in the attachment sent with the extension request, is the WNLO build out should be done long before the end of STA in July..  Here is a link, to the filing and at the bottom of the link is the attachment.

On December 27, 2019, WNYO-DT had petitioned to:

substitute a different model directional antenna, a Dielectric model TFU-18JTH/VP-R S380, for its authorized antenna, a Dielectric model TFU-16DSB-DSB-F. Since the horizontal azimuth patterns differ very slightly a new interference analysis is provided herein.

Thanks @the-one, I read about it many years ago, and never experienced it before. And yes, it was only good for the night.

Anyone know what's up with Grit on 7-4? Mid-week the video got a very choppy, stop-action kind of look.

Try it now, reception for me improved with them going to Rf34 after the repack.

Anyone else notice the new test channels on 26 and 18? I wonder if they are moving the transmitters back to the CN Tower.

There was a couple of weeks where I was able to get WBXZ 56 & I thought it was because of all these frequencies moving around.

Then I see they had a technical problem, which explains why I lost them.

...or have they come back and I'm back to NOT getting WBXZ...again?

I'm in St. Catharines with a 30' tower with an antenna at about 40'

Up here in southern Richmond Hill channel 17 WNED-TV on rf 31 was solid for many years, now it is very spotty, some days zero bars on meter when it used to be at 75%. Anyone else noticed anything or am I being blocked by towers along the lake?

Most other channels from USA are solid (even chn 4 and 23)

Waited a month or so, 17 has changed, on the best of days only 2 bars rf strength dropping to zero most of the time. Either more high rise blockage through Toronto or lake effect rf ducting. My best guess is the tower/height change and maybe slight location on Grand Island did the trick?

It was on 43 for years and moved to 31 in March with a taller tower and increased power.

Forgive the obvious suggestion, but have you rescanned your channels since the March repack?

After the March repack, the signal is now so strong, it seems like it's practically next door to me (Toronto by the lake). It should still be pretty good in Richmond Hill.

Also one on RF 30 (Omni 1) and another on RF 17 (Global, mapped to 41.2). To my knowledge they never left the CN tower(?), but the RF 40, 41, 44, and 47 signals will be gone by the end of next week (July 3 at the latest).
