Can anyone who has used / owns one of these please answer me a question.

I have a Futronix Remote Controlled Light Switch and was wondering if it possible to control a Lighting system using the RC9800i.

I have downloaded and looked at the manual, and could not see lighting mentioned?

Any help before I consider ordering one would be appreciated.

Kindest Regards

I have this remote at my store, and have been messing with it. I have to say it is very easy to use and setup, but it is also limited in regard to user defined anything. It is designed to be hand programmable, and very simple to set-up, unfortunately those design goals do not equate to much flexibilty in programming.

In regards to lighting, you can definitely learn the controls for your lighting into any number of the 8 user defined buttons for a particular device(I have done so with Lutron dimmers at my store) the caveat is, the remote sets up its own activity based macros which do not allow any means of getting to these buttons once the macro is complete and it ends up on the device page. To get to the user defined buttons, one has to go to a page on the homepage labeled individual device control. Thusly, if you have any visions of a Pronto like macro dimming your lights as it turns on all the gear and gets a movie going, forget about it.
I never drive faster than I can see, and besides that, its all in the reflexes.

I just received my RC9800i and I actually found a work around for this issue. I simply wanted to have my home theater lights dim when I launch an activitiy and come back up when powering the system down.

Although currently "Light Controller" is not an option on the remote as a new device, I selected "Home Theater System" as a device. By usuing my original Lutron light controller remote, I learned the power button on this new device and then included it as one of the devices used in "Watch a DVD" and "Watch TV" activities.

In doing so, the lights dim and come back up as I wanted them to.

Hope this helps!

What function did you use to set up the Lutron Dimmer Switch on the RC9800?
I can't find any device that indicates lighting> Perhaps i am not looking in the right place?
Please advise
