I have this remote at my store, and have been messing with it. I have to say it is very easy to use and setup, but it is also limited in regard to user defined anything. It is designed to be hand programmable, and very simple to set-up, unfortunately those design goals do not equate to much flexibilty in programming.

In regards to lighting, you can definitely learn the controls for your lighting into any number of the 8 user defined buttons for a particular device(I have done so with Lutron dimmers at my store) the caveat is, the remote sets up its own activity based macros which do not allow any means of getting to these buttons once the macro is complete and it ends up on the device page. To get to the user defined buttons, one has to go to a page on the homepage labeled individual device control. Thusly, if you have any visions of a Pronto like macro dimming your lights as it turns on all the gear and gets a movie going, forget about it.
I never drive faster than I can see, and besides that, its all in the reflexes.
