I just noticed something the other day on my TSU3500 that I have owned for 2 weeks.

Every now and then when my remote is "asleep" and I wake it by touching the screen (or buttons) I notice some horizontal black lines flash on the screen as it wakes up. They tend to go away quickly at about the time the buttons show up. (would probably miss if you were not looking closely). This does not happen every time. Almost like that flickering LCD connected to a pc that tends to flicker just before the icons show on your desktop.

Is this normal? I reflashed firmware, but still happens. I tend to pick items apart when I get them, and tend to notice every little shorcoming. But just wanted to see if this is normal operation?

Thanks.

Never been reported. I think I'd be exchanging the unit as the 3000's have had issues with some touch screens. Never heard of the problem with the 3500's but I'd definitely look @ exchange.

I called Philips Tech support, and he said the same thing. It actually got worse last night, and started happening more often and with more lines. My wife even noticed and informed me.

Since I have had the item about 2 weeks I will try and exchange. However this website shows 14 day exchange. I might be a couple of days over, but if so Philips stated they would take care of it. I hope they don't do like Hard Drive manufacturers and try and send a referb unit.

You may get a refurb if you go through Philips repair.

Just got my replacement from the online store, and it does the same thing.
Guess it is normal, or maybe a common issue. I had a video of it and showed a friend of mine, and he did not notice it until I put it in slow motion video. Maybe that most people don't notice it. I guess I will keep it and hope it lasts.
