First let me say this is my first post and I want to thank everyone for all the great information I've already gathered from this forun, it has been invaluable.

After consideration I decided to purchase a TSU2000. After spending a weekend with it I really like the flexibility.

However, the screen is just not very bright. Does anyone know if the 300 will have a brighter screen. I know it's screen is larger with more resolution but my main concern at this point is Lumens.

Thanks,
Clay

To be honest. We don't know. Because non of us has one. I just took at the Specifications. And it didn't mention anything about the brightness of the screen. However, it does have digital contrast control. Which should be better then the analog controls.

I have a tsu-3000 and find the screen OK. At first it took me awhile to fool around with the contrast and settings but it seems very crisp in low to available light. So far I'm please with the unit.

I have compared a TS1000 with the TSU3000 with the same page loaded and it is very bright and clear (the TSU3000). I love this new remote so far..

Now that the TSU3000 has been shipping for another month, can we get more opinions on the brightness of the display as compared to the TSU2000?

I have a 2000 and a 3000. At first I was disappointed by the 3000 screen, it's just not as sharp as I had hoped. However, comparing the two side by side with the same bitmap setup, the 3000 is much more cleaner and clearer. The whole specs about 16 scales of grey really don't mean much since the lighter shades barely show up.

I'm suspecting that my 2000 isn't so great because I have noticed the brightness/contrast has slowly been degrading. The 3000 contrast is quite nice. But the blue light is different from the green light.

I think you'll be happy with it. But it's not enough to say WOW. I still don't understand why they can't get a screen like the Sony Clies or HP Ipaqs on there.

As for the 16 shades I have created a lot of bitmaps and modified several backgrounds. They seem to look best by darkening the contrast one setting. Creating new custom bitmaps seems to be the only way to take advantage of the new screen. I have used both remotes and much prefer the 3000 screen. Now if we can just make it faster...
