I have had two Pronto's for four or five years. I have never had a problem with the Pronto learning commands from other remotes. I just got an Electrohome projector and the Pronto will not learn the commands from the Electrohome remote. Anybody got any ideas of why I am having this problem? I notice that on other remotes, the red LED stays lit when you hold down a button. On the Electrohome, the red LED flickers.

Thanks

I dont mean to make you feel dumb. But are you pointing the electrohome remote to the correct end of the pronto??? It should be to the tail end of the pronto, in other words the remotes (pronto and oem) should be facing the same way. Also, are you holding down the oem's buttons that you want to learn?

Some(Most) Electrohome projectors use a High FRequency that prontos have trouble learning. They can Emmit the codes, but not learn reliably. There are several CCF's inthe files section from Electrohome and others who have provided the necessary hex code configuration for the prontos.

King of Typos: If you really read my post, it said I had no trouble with it learning from other remotes.

Impaqt: Thanks for your reply. I will look intothe file section.

You also said you've had the remote for quite a while.... Seevral people have posted similar questions only to have forgot about the IR receiver being on the oposite end of the pronto.

Its a question that has to be asked....

Yes, I really read your posting. But it does not mentioned when you last learned the ir codes from the older remotes. So I just assumed that you haven't learned from those old remotes in a long while and had forgotten how to do it. There have been someone on here, who comes on here offent to post. They posted a message a couple of months ago asking "Why isn't my pronto learning?" The fact of the matter was that he was learning to the wrong end of the remote.
