My pronto has started not responding. If I touch the screen it looks like it is rebooting then bleeps twice. If I then touch the backling button (or indeed anything on the screen) it just gost mostly black or looks like a tv screen when the antenna is not plugged in, then reboots again. Apart from the buttons, there is no indication that the back light is working.
Has it finally died? RU940 is the model number.
Thanks in advance for any advice offered

Did this, but still no luck. It starts , shows the first screen (after pronto screen) then any touch makes the screen go all over the place (like a TV that lost it reception) then shuts down.. sometimes reboots.

Any other suggestions

It ususally takes several (and sometimes many) attempts at a reflash in order to get it to work. The timing needs to be just right.

Does the firmware update report as successful?

If you get al the way through the Update, and it reports all is OK, and your remote is still doing that... You probobly have a more serious issue.

If during the reflash, the software asks to preserve the current CCF, don't. More than likely the CCF that's currently there is corrupt and is causing a problem.

I've only seen the screen in the condition you describe one time. That was on my Marantz RC9200 and I somehow had a corrupt CCF generated with SNL and the CCF compiler.

I have now reflashed the pronto about 4 times, the last few with saying No to keep the old configuration.
Still the screen is not behaving, it looks like when ever it is to use backlight it dies.
Any more suggestions?

Tony,

But, as Impaqt said, does the firmware update report as successful??? If not, keep trying, if it does, you could try opening the remote and checking the connections on the ribbon cable.
